Well looks like Conchi lost -- but a walkover to Tonia -- was she hurt? Then Anabel defeated Tonia 3 and 2 (I think it was) to win the title. Congrats to Anabel -- she seems to be the "comer" lately, don't you agree?

Did any of you go? I've never heard of Laura Pous and Marta Fraga. How do they play?

María Antonia Sánchez Lorenzo bt. Nuria Llagostera 6-1.6-7 (3). 6-1
María started the match in perfect form, Nuria just couldn't do anything right and was playing awful... María's strokes were powerful and very well placed on court until she was 6-1.5-3 40-00 with three match points, then a master choke job from Toñi and Llagostera's wonderful defence allowed Nuria to break her serve and keep hers until tie break which she won easily, at this time Nuria was playing as hard as María . The last set Nuria didn't play well again and María just make what she had to to win the match.
Anabel Medina bt. Lourdes Domínguez 6-3.6-1... nothing special to comment about it, just to remark Lourdes nice one handed backhand.
Conchita Martínez bt. Arancha Parra 6-2.6-0 veeeery quick match Conchita didn't do anything special, it was all Parra who just wasn't focused at all in the game, sure Conchita's tennis doesn't suit hers at all, but everyone was expecting a much closer match Conchita served well and changed the pace of the ball as usual to drive Arancha mad.
Finally the match of the day Laura Pous bt. Marta Fraga 6-0.4-6.6-2 The first set was extremely quick, Laura's power was too much for Marta to handle. Despite all Marta showed great technique and defence skills, angles but she was unable of attacking the ball and at the end it was all Laura. Laura was up in the second set as well but suddenly her head was in the cloud and Marta too the chance to break Laura to tie the match at 4-4 and then again to grab the second set. At this time Marta was defending great but as soon as the last set started she seemed tired (Fraga is coming back after injury and shoulder surgery) and Laura could play again with her head on at full power. If only Marta were more offensive but at least she showed her ranking should be much better (easily Top 200)

Conchita v Medina for sure.
I'm leaning towards Conchita.
