Has anyone heard anything further? Is it ever going to come back?

I like it better here for the most part, but I really miss a couple of the long interesting threads there.

I don't know but I think as the message board has so many members and have been there for more than 2 years, even if they really cancelled it, they should make an announcement . I miss many old friends and threads there

I now really think this message board is cancelled coz theres no reason why it was out of servie for almost 2 months . The officials are irresponsible, at least they should send us a e-mail informing us of the same

I emailed Anne Bonney today - let's see if I get a reply.

She'll tell you that all she knows it that they're working on it She tells everyone always that.

Well, you know, the link for the Message Board is now completely off the WTA site, so I took that to mean it was never coming back. But it's interesting to me that you say Anne Bonney still says they are working on it.

Anyway, my feeling is we now have this nice new board (which seems to me to have just the same threads as the WTA board had) so why do we need the other one. Are there lots of people who were on the old board who haven't made it over here yet?

I really like it here. But I miss the really long threads like 'going home...' which were really friendly and really important to the people in them.

Just got this earlier today:

[quote]Here's what I've been told:

According to Jim Hill at Sanex, they are still working on recovering the files from the dead server for transfer to a new one. Some of the files have turned out to be much larger than expected and this has complicated things.

That is quite literally ALL the information I have: I have estimate on how long the process will take, why the size of the files is such an issue, or what actions they are considering to deal with the size issue.

It MIGHT be worth having people email webmaster@sanexwta.com or general@sanexwta.com to gently encourage them to resolve this issue quickly. They have to have noticed a drop-off in visits to the site, but it can't hurt for them to hear from people.
WTA Board Administrator

I think it would have gone down regardless. Why would it have to do with an All-Williams final.

Oh, and by the way:

It went down BEFORE THE SEMIS.

Hi all,

I received the reply to my email:

I have e-mailed Anne Bonney before and received similar replies.

I am sure she is saying what she's been told and we know she has nothing to do with this.

Said that, what Jim Hill has said is pure bullshit.

They have taken 3 months to download files? they must think we are really morons, if the files are THAT big, there are techniques that my 1 years old niece can use to handle them.

At the worst case, why don't they just screw the files and load the program somewhere else?

I have had other issues with Jim Hill regarding why the ranking weren't published in text format anymore and I got bullshit as well, this guy either is a big liar of has no clue at all and I doubt he is able to turn a computer on

The WTA has showed a tremendous incompetence, just take a look at their site, it's the most horrendous design I have seen in a long time.

I guess the WTA has an innate talent to hire the worst of the worst. How long did it take it to Poe and the others to solve the problem with this board?

In the mean time, the WTA really give a very poor image of itself. I don't think the wta will be back simply because the wta is unable to hire someone able to think.

yes, I agree, Fingon, they are very useless . I have e-mailed to the address Alpha stated and urged them to fix it soon. May be we should ALL send them complaint e-mail so that they may finally realise that they ARE FOLLISH!

hello Fingon and the Cat, this Jim gave me a reply today but still no mention of the date when the board will be fixed

He said:

"We are working on restoring it. No date for having it available is known
yet."

Yes Lucar, they are bad, lazy and irresponsible but I am a bit better than you, because Jim's reply comes very soon after I e-mailed him.
