Articles from Serbian "KURIR" and "GLORIA" on www.dokic-live.co.nr!

P.S. She is OK (Jelena is in Croatia now), at the beginning of december she'll go in Australia to prepare for season 2006 (and to get their citizenship?)...

Maybe they mean, ask to represent AUS again.

Yes, but she will play for Australia this time! Why that primitive question, I don't know?

I am simple man! ;)

Anyway if seriously then I'm puzzled why she's going down there? She can't qualify to any of Oz summer WTA events? If she's trying to get some WC's then she will be refused like she was recently by Slovenians. Some kind of WTA rule for players ranked to low if I recall correctly. Of course she might receive Oz open WC because it's not WTA event.

Only reasonable thoght is her mind related - she wants to make peace with her past. It might just help her to rebuild her professional life (and not only).

There is such a rule? I thought tournaments are allowed to give out WCs to whoever they want including those unranked?

Ok, it's my speculation actually, but somehow Slovenian Open officials had to refuse WC because of WTA. Sry, don't remember exactly why...

It would be ridiculous to have a certain ranking cut-off for WCs. ;)

I wouldn't really blame the officials for not giving her a WC though.

Mistery solved....playing for serbia down under!!!!!!! can't translate everything tired...

It says that they contacted Jelana's manager Drago Diklic (anyone knows who that is?) and he says that Jelena is in Zagreb and practicing hard for Australian Open and that Jelena representing Australia is pure media speculation, she will still play for Serbia...

New "friend"??

It's not even that important. What matters is that she still wants to play! :)

"friend" <---- I like this haha. ;)

Sorry I know it doesn't really matter but the name sounds Croatian to me. Oh well, the most important thing is that she wants to keep competing.

Yes back were she belongs... But representing the Australian flag :D

Australia helped her career so much and maybe playing for us again they could help get her back on track again :D

Ive just found a atricle in the Australian media that states

"She wants to take Australian Citizenship when she is there and to play at the Australian Open as an Australian Citizen.

If this is true she will be playing under the Australian Flag not Serbian Flag :D

Ill post the rest of this atricle when i get home from work..

Cheers

All recent Oz articles have based on Damir's statement.
But Drago Diklic (her manager?!?) denied that she will play under Aus flag.

Most probably we are talking about expired Oz passport here. She's just going to extend it.

Any one player is only permitted to receive X number of wildcards per year. Jelena must've exceded that when the Slovenian tournament occured.
