The first time a player who is ranked #1 during a season had also a double bagel in the same season :)

i think goran ivanisevic (sp?) was unseeded when he won a few years ago, so that's why im askin.. ;)

Ohmygod Maria! :banghead: damn, why couldnt she have gotten one game off of Lindsay. Now, her double bagel will haunting her for her entire career! :rolleyes: I'm crossing my fingers for Maria's revenge soon... ;)

Yep, Goran Ivanišević... :bounce: He was not just unseeded, he got the wildcard (he was in 3 Wimbledon finals before that one, first time in 1992.) and won it (has beaten Pat Rafter,
9/7 in 5th set, on his 4th
MP) - 4th time lucky! :D :worship: :worship: :worship: :worship:

In Moscow Q, Mary Pierce has beaten Elena Likhovtseva 7/5, 4/6, 7/6(6) -
Elena had 6 match points in 3rd set tie break, but Mary won
8 straight points to win the match.... She
won the tournament (vs. Schiavone 6/4, 6/3) and came back to Top 5
for the first time since 2000. :yeah:

This one hasn't happened yet but there's a good chance it will. Lindsay Starting the year with the number 1 ranking and Lindsay finishing the year ranked number 1. Having had it all bar seven weeks.
