I was just thinking that she deserves a lot of respect for putting the brakes on what could have been a career threatening slump.

given how she was performing in the first half the year (due a number of factors) i think she showed real guts and determination after Roland Garros, especially at Wimbledon. finishing in the top 15 in the race was a great effort in my opinion.

she's still not back to her best but she's getting there. Well done!!

I'm not her biggest fan but i think she's a great girl!! Amjo Nastya!!

yes...she proved she wasn't a fluke. she was really going through a hard time, like she said. at first i assumed it was an excuse, but she is very talented. she didn't beat many big names this year except dementieva, but still...i'm glad she turned her season around.

well said i agree myskina is a good hardworking trier their are so many bums on tour who would have layed down and died but she has picked herself up like a true champ. When i met her at wimbledon i asked her for an autograph she swore at me,shut a gate in my face and stormed off and i've loved her since :bounce: i wish her every good luck in 2006

I agree. I was harsh on her earlier in the year, but she is a strong player and more importantly, a stronger person.

I hope she comes back healthy for 2006!

Amen to that. After the French Open loss, things must have been awful for her, even in Eastbourne...she was still there signing for everyone and smiling, even after her loss :worship:

Her year turned around after Wimbledon, some amazing fighting performances there, especially against Jankovic and Demetieva.

She's done well. :) :yeah:

Completely agreed. I have a new found respect for Nastya. And I think we're going to be seeing her back in the top 5 again by Rolland Garros.

Thank you for this thread;)

I would like to  all the other Nastya fans here (u know who you are) who stayed a fan throughout those incredible sad and ugly months earlier the year, also the ones who helped to increase our visitor-numbers at www.anastasia-myskina.com (which had 300% more visitors than usual during the French Open THIS YEAR  ) and to the persons here which treated her pretty respectfully :worship:

Well done, Nastya :worship: 2006 :bounce:

I agree too - She did remarkably well to turn the year around. Hopefully, with not many points to defend in the beginning of next year, she will return to her place in the top 10.
Go Nastya! - We all believe in you! :bounce:

I think nastya won a lot of fans this year because of the determination she showed through her personal problems!

I wasn't worried about Myskina. It's been a period of transition for her since she won the French. The new demands has gotten the best of many players. Hopefully in 2006 she'll be able to play freely now that she has experienced a major slump.

Good old Nastya. Win or lose, she does make things interesting.

Now, in 2006 let's hope she had good results against all the top players except Lena D.!;) (I had to throw that in for Spunky, Lucas and a few others).

It's been a great turnaround in the second half of this year when lesser players in her postion would have fallen out of the top 50 and into obscurity.

Looking forward to an awesome 2006 from her.
