I know, I know. No rational person could defend that answer. There's no tennis based reason to think that's going to happen. But I have the same feeling I had before the QF at Wimbledon in 2004. The stars are going to align for her. And we will have to endure a return of the breathless, eternal, mindless hype we spent 12 months listening to from Wimbledon 2004 to WImbledon 2005.

On current form and given their indoor records either Davenport or Clijster, giving a slight edge to Clijsters, her games seems so well suited to the indoor courts.

If Mauresmo hadn't made the semis last year, I bet she would bail on the YEC this year. The way she's been playing, I have a feeling she'll be the Zvonareva/Dementieva of this year's YEC.

I'll be shocked if we don't have a Davenport/Clijsters final.

Isn't the YEC played on a relatively slow indoor surface? If so, then I would go with Kim. If it's faster than I heard, then Lindsay.

well, everybody's prepared to see Kim or Lindsay holding the YEC. i'm rootin for Lindsay....that would be a big pleasure to see Momo winning but..but.

It would be rather anti climatic if these two dont meet in the finals. Having it this way would only be very suiting since both would be fighting for the year end #1.

All current signs point to either Kim or Lindsay, but I'm gonna be a biased loyal supporter and hope Maria defends her title successfully. We'll see how she does in Philly first I guess.
