1. The best matches Conchita has played Ė even if she lost the match at the end.

I pick the following:

Wimbledon 1994 final: those passing shots are memorable even now.

Wimbledon 1995 semi-final: coming back from 3-6, 2-5 down to win the second set against ASV, her strong determination in the second set was a rare moment that she looked like the World No.1 on court.

Australian Open 1998 semi-final: she really used her brain and variety of shots to confuse Davenport. I still hope she could beat Davenport few more times next year (hopefully in Charleston / Roland Garros) before she hangs her racquet. I always like their rivalry.

2. I want to know why she always struggles to beat the top players. Does it have to do with her age (it is really tough to play against players who are 10 years her junior in almost every match), her mental exhaustion (she has played more than 1000 matches in her life), lack of self-belief (remember her dismal head-to-head records against the top players like Graf/Seles/Williams/Henin/etc.) or other factors.

I think her presence in the tour provides a breath of fresh air, because of style is more different than the other power-hitters. I also think she is still very fit physically.

(Please reply in English. I donít know Spanish at all!)
