The interview from ORF Sport was interesting; she said her goal was to become number 1 and that monica Seles was a great player, a great personnality and she liked her a lot :worship:

Terrible match from both players. Ana seemed to have lost her form the last couple of months. I know she has had an injury and all but she is ok now right? Even last week when she reached SF she didn't impress me. I think she's tired. Because she was definitely not playing like this in the beginning of the year.

That was a terrible match....

Shinobu played awful....hope she doesn't end her year afetr that.......

Ivanovic was also realllly disappointing...I thought she hit the ball a lot better than she does...also, she just another hit-the-ball-as-hard-as-possible-on-every-shot-without-thinking-about-it!

Ana seems to be playing a lot of tournements for a girl on age restrictions. She's winning ugly currently, I think she'll be back to her good form in the new year.

I saw only 2nd set but I don't think this match was terrible at all. Ana showed some great defensive shots and she definetely isn't "just another hit-the-ball-as-hard-as-possible-on-every-shot-without-thinking-about-it!". She wasn't as agressive as usual and proved that her game is not one-dimensional.

It wasn't terrible. Let's say that it wasn't the best match of both of them. But who cares? Ana won

It wasn't that bad at all. Sure, there were some ugly errors, but lots of hard-fought rallies as well. Shinobu is a fighter and really made it difficult for Ana in the 1st set.
And Ana is not just a mindless ball basher at all. She know how to use her brain (though she forgets that once in a while ;) ). Just a little bit more consistency on her serve, slightly improved backhand and a few kg less and she'll be flying.

:bigclap: to Ana - trying to end the year in style.

Ana has had a really great year, so not sure why all the negativism. Remember, at the start of the year she had to qualify for a Tier V event which she won - winning eight matches to do so - in a week! She then reached the 3R of the Oz Open on her debut!! She reached the QF of Miami!! Quarters of the French Open where she beat Mauresmo, and then last week the SF of Zurich. And she has got herself into the Top20. Remember guys and girls, she is only 17 - so she has got a long way to go, but she has set herself up nicely for a strong career!

Some people will never be satisfied  . But this shouldn't bother anyone :D The match wasn't that bad at all maybe it's a crime a youngster can't produce a GS-winning level in all her matches (heavy sarcasm but not for you of course).

Beautiful Ana keep it up, her next round shouldnt be so bad, maybe she'll lose less games! I don't think she's completely back to top form, but as long as she's winning for now, i'm not worried!! she just needs practice!
