I was born in 1984 when this woman named Martina Navratilova ruled the world. I don`t know much about her, was she ever any good? She must have quit tennis a long time ago.
Well that year she won the French Open, Wimbledon and the US Open.
And the Australian Open was won by Chris Evert. Was this a guy? What kind of a name for a girl is Chris?

I was born in 1918 (shut up, Joan, it was NOT 1917) and there was no Australian Open for women, I believe at that point, and the French and Wimbledon there was no competition due to WW1. So, Molla Mallory (U.S. Open) was the only slam winner my year!

Fuck! I cursed Martina Navratilova when I was born! She lost to Chris Evert in the semifinals of the 1975 U.S. Open. :crying2: Chris went on to win the tournament against Evonne Goolagong.

What a bad way to come to this world!

Australian Championships- Margaret Smith def. Jan Lehane
French Championships- Margaret Smith def. Lesley Turner
Wimbledon- Karen Hantze Susman def. Vera Sukova
U.S. Championships- Margaret Smith def. Darlene Hard

Three out of the four majors for the first time in her career. This was the year Billie Jean Moffitt stunned #1 seed Margaret Smith in the first round of Wimbledon, winning their first-round encounter after Margaret was up 5-2 and serving for the match in the third set!
