I see people are delighted with the score, but I don't know why, it's a good win in a meaningless match, it's not that surprising Marta can produce such scores against good players, we all know her capabilities, but she must start making these results on tour, that's the only place where it counts

Agreed on two points: 1. We all know Marta's potential, 2. Marta has to start winning where and when it matters...
I just don't think I should not acknowledge good result where and when it mattered slightly less. I am sure Marta is paid by the club to play for them in Bundesliga and paid more for winning. So it is not like it did not matter at all.

She's not. There's limit of four single players from one country and look how many Russians are in top 60.

Check Olympics thread for more info.

Could you give us link to this blog please?

Well, I do not know Marta's boyfriend and I'm stunned he could be swimmer also going to Beijing.

So Marta fans, choose her boyfriend. Here Polish swimmers qualified to Beijing:

Bartosz Kizierowski - 50m freestyle
Mateusz Sawrymowicz - 1500 freestyle
Maciej Hreniak - 1500 freestyle
Paweł Korzeniowski - 400m freestyle, 200m butterfly, relay 4x200m freestyle
Łukasz Gąsior - 200 freestyle, relay 4x200m freestyle
Przemysław Stańczyk - 400 freestyle, relay 4x200m freestyle
Michał Rokicki - relay 4x200m freestyle
Łukasz Gimiński - relay 4x200m freestyle
Łukasz Wójt - relay 4x200m freestyle

I could add photos later...

netimka
Jun 14th, 2008, 04:39 PM
very interesting with this boyfriend... I think it wont be Wojt as he lives and trains in Germany all the time... maybe one who train in Warsaw...

I would put no on:
Bartosz Kizierowski - thats obvious... kid and wife
Maciej Hreniak - 3 years younger and from Oswiecin
Łukasz Wójt - lives in Germany

???
Mateusz Sawrymowicz - Szczecin
Paweł Korzeniowski - Warszawa
Łukasz Gąsior - Warszawa
Przemysław Stańczyk - Szczecin
Michał Rokicki - Warszawa
Łukasz Gimiński - Warszawa

I would put a bid on one from Szczecin as I was training swimming there for 8 years and it will be the best club for me...

She's propably withdrawn from FH because its during the week before US Open and maybe she wants to have some free time and save some energy/practice more in the NY, at least I think so

As much as I like Marta I think her approach to tennis us unprofessional. Based on cited article she is trying to "save" money by not taking her coach. How short sighted is that? I hope she will learn from that very quickly, otherwise if she is not going to take care of her "near vision" the result will be like that:

Just joking, but I had to make myself smile (and hopefully make you smile, too) so I will not get depressed seeing how she is wasting her talent.

But seriously, is she there without coach? And because of economic reasons? Then why she doesn't play in Portoroz & Stockholm instead? It would be cheaper, being in Europe she would have more time for training (with coach!) and would have a chance for more pts in smaller tournaments. I wouldn't call it unprofessional approach to tennis, rather bad plan. If that was "regular" season, I wouldn't care that much, it's her career, her results, but bad it happens right before olympics. Anyway like always in such moments, I hope for a miracle and Marta starts winning. ;)

Coach Ostrowski said that's funny he doesn't go with Marta on tourneys when it soo much visible she needs a care of a professional coach. Ostrowski isn't also going to Beijing as some Gringo (I don't remember the surname but his our tennis team coordinator or someone like that) is going instead. Sad.

I think that Matias is not Marta's "permanent" coach. She used to train with Sven Groenefeld while being in US like 2 years ago, cause he was given to her by Adidas. It may be the same story with Polonsky this time as well. He is with Petrova in Montreal, so Marta trains with him and Nadia. And the costs of US tournaments are lower.

There also was a time in 2007 I think, when Marta trained with Catalina Castano and her coach Pablo Giacoppelli. We'll see how will this story go, but I hope Marta won't split with Ostrowski.

I also hope Marta stays with Ostrowski, but it's strange he has no contact with her, knows nothing about her form and doesn't know if they will work together again.

And when I hear some other well known person interferes in it, I'm afraid of Marta's results. Hopefully this whole case is only some misunderstanding or a false rumour. :tape:

It is less important for me who is the coach, but that he is with her actually coaching. If I was Ostrowski I would say you either work with me and we are together most of the time or good bye. This is first element of coaching; you can see the results. I know she advanced quite a bit, but regardless of what people say she has tons of talent that is going to waste

I left the stadium to go see Mattek play Domachowska. Marta was on fire! Bethanie wasn't at her best, I don't think - but Marta was teeing off on her shots a lot. It was entertaining in the second set, I found! Poor Beth, though, she looked out of sorts and disappointed. (But hey, she has a hot coach! Sorry. I just had to say it.) Her outfit wasn't outrageous either - it was a Wimbledon style tame outfit for Beth's standards. I hope her doubles matches brings along with it a cowboy hat and pink zebra stripes.

very interesting with this boyfriend... I think it wont be Wojt as he lives and trains in Germany all the time... maybe one who train in Warsaw...

I would put no on:
Bartosz Kizierowski - thats obvious... kid and wife
Maciej Hreniak - 3 years younger and from Oswiecin
Łukasz Wójt - lives in Germany

???
Mateusz Sawrymowicz - Szczecin
Paweł Korzeniowski - Warszawa
Łukasz Gąsior - Warszawa
Przemysław Stańczyk - Szczecin
Michał Rokicki - Warszawa
Łukasz Gimiński - Warszawa

I would put a bid on one from Szczecin as I was training swimming there for 8 years and it will be the best club for me...

It was classic defeat by Marta

How does look the classic defeat by Marta? It begins from 0:3 and big nerves that culminate with expletives and racket landing on court. Then we have metre-outs, inregular play and, at the end of second set while 3:6, 1:5 Marta starts to play a way BETTER. Suddenly we see that she CAN hit strongly and correctly. Daemons comes back when there is 4:5 on the scoreboard. The hand starts to shake once again and it's the end.

Domachowska committed 43 unforced errors. Bulgarian a half less.

- I wanted to win too much. I was afraid to risk, I couldn't take the initiative. - Marta said after match.

Why there were nerves? - Dunno, I have that simply. Pironkowa played just to hit the ball on my side so quite calmly, committed few errors. I should attack but I couldn't. Don't know why. I knew the recipe against her but I couldn't realize it.

And it's that what upset me the most.

She is still 54th in the ranking.

- Marta knows how to play. She showed good tennis but unfortunately it was in the moment when match had been already finished.

Marta hasn't the compromise between her temper and regularity. She doesn't play bad, has skills but she doesn't use them. - papa Radwański.

Propably I will consult with psychologist. - Marta said this year in Paris.

Radwański said that he is not obliged to decide if Marta needs psychologist.

Match lasted 81 mins. Pironkova won when the sky cleared up for a moment.

The statement that Marta didn't win 1ts round match since AO is not correct. She won at following tournaments:

1. Miami
2. Amelia Island
3. Istanbul
4. French Open
5. Birmingham
6. Wimbledon
7. Los Angeles
8. Montreal

Her position in the ranking did not come free. However I believe Marta would benefit from help dealing with her demons. If she could overcome these difficulties we would have 2 excellent tennis players playing very different tennis. Then if Urszula could join... is it just a dream????

Później ponownie wyjechał on.

****

lol jakie cuda niewidy wymyslaja. jedna wersje do przeklamu, druga do faktu ;))

It's article from today's Polish paper about meeting of Paweł Korzeniowski and Marta. They call each other "honey". It was a pic also but I cannot find it ;)

I'll be there for the museums in the first place, and these are closed on Mondays. And at least you can buy the tickets on the Web without waiting in line all night long in the rain, the way they do it at Wimby.

Then we noticed Elena Dementieva practicing on the middle practice court with the beautiful Marta Domachowska, another personal favorite. What a dream match-up, and I took pics of them from the crack. Elena was escorted by her mom throwing her balls (Vera D. is so tiny and adorable, I’m glad Elena got her athletic and tall genes from her dad instead) as well as a seemingly bored Maksim who was yawning on a chair

Then we saw Marta Domachowska again by the Bondarenkos’ court! We asked for a picture and told her that she’s one of our faves. Very pretty in person, and obviously quite busty. ;)
