"La française vient d'annoncer son retrait du tournoi de Linz dans lequel elle était engagée cette semaine. En baisse de régime ces dernières semaines, Amélie choisit de faire un break afin de retrouver toute son énergie pour les Masters de Los Angeles qui auront lieu début Novembre. La numéro un française annonce donc aujourd'hui son retrait forcé du tournoi de Linz prévu initialement à son calendrier."

Geez, doesn't anyone have Google?? :p ;)

The Frenchwoman has just announced her withdrawal of the tournament of Linz in which she was committed this week. In fall of mode these last weeks, Amélie chooses to withdraw in order to find all her energy for Masters of Los Angeles which will take place at the beginning of November. The number one Frenchwoman thus announces today her forced withdrawal of the tournament of Linz envisaged initially with her calendar."

I think it was a good thing. It's obvious that she needs to rest. I think she should even withdraw from YEC because I don't think a two week rest can make that much of a difference as far as her results are concerned.

well good descision ,but why the hell not do it sooner? shes fucked up the draw now ,she could have made this statement last week when the poor little thing was tired and worn out ,despite all the other players having played just as much and going deeper into tournaments too.

I am quite a fan of Momos but this whining is not good ,she should either put up or fuck up ,everyone else is tired too ,everyones else has played all year ,shes just trying to explain a shitty patch and shes fed up ,understandable ,it happens to all players ,but no excuses ,and pull out of YEC then if shes too tired and weak.

Well lets hope she gets her shit together next year and finds her form and drive..

well good descision ,but why the hell not do it sooner? shes fucked up the draw now ,she could have made this statement last week when the poor little thing was tired and worn out ,despite all the other players having played just as much and going deeper into tournaments too.

Harsh words lol I think slightly too harsh. Agree with the should have withdrawn sooner, but whats done is done no need to get annoyed over it. She said she was having a bad, so? How is that moaning? If someone asks you how you are feeling? and you reply not great. Thats not moaning. I dont think she should pull out of YEC its pretty important that she plays it. I agree about next year :) hopefully it will be a better year.

predictable decision and I think the most "intelligent".

Why playing if you are tired, not motivated and OUT???

Allez amé,take some rest, dont think about tennis and come back when you feel you are ready to play.http://yelims1.free.fr/Amour/Amour63.gif

Well a good decision, she has to do was is right for her and her body. Even if that means messing up a Tier 2 draw, put yourself first for a change Amélie.

It's true that she should have done it sooner but then again she hasn't had a tendency to withdraw late so maybe we should cut her some slack. Logically one might think that it would be easier to make quick decisions when you're totally out of it but the paradox is that it's much harder because you're not thinking logically.

I think it was a good thing. It's obvious that she needs to rest. I think she should even withdraw from YEC because I don't think a two week rest can make that much of a difference as far as her results are concerned.
Oh well we'll see what happens.

Or maybe if she is not there that will boost the chances of some other players....I dont think she should miss this chance players kill themselves all year to gain this honor and Amelie should grab her chance whenb it is given after being earned....Goooo Amelie.....

Health should always go before glory and honour. Besides without good health you're not able to reach the moment glory and honour anyway, just simple facts of life.

Amelie is physically fine....its all the stress and the crap that is surrounding her that is making her so depressed.....and being away will make things worth....it will remind her over and over again of her sadness.....I say Go to YEC.....I say change circumstances...I say Look for other options....I say be tougher I say make your own decision .....

When you're mentally down it affects you physically a lot even if you're very fit. The physical strength in your body just vanishes. She even said so herself that her body was really tired. I've been there myself and it's a very unpleasant thing to experience.
If she keeps pushing herself too much at this point, she might push herself over the edge and then her tennis career will as good as over.

I've been there as well to sit and dwell on it is useless, just release the stress no expectations....I think she should do what she feels not rely on anyone to make her decisions for her.....But dont Miss the YEC.....miss everything thing before that ....

Do you see the contradiction in your statement? First you say that she should do what she feels and then next sentence you tell her not to miss the YEC.
If Amélie is on her way to burnout, it's a hell a lot more than just sit and dwell on it.
What type of people have more tendency to burnout/to get CFS? Statistically those who are high performing professionals in all fields who have high goals and ambitions + being introvert and sensitive.

Then you shouldn't express yourself in such a ambiguous manner if it was her words you meant.
As for the deep intellectual conversations...I'm not afraid of them, here or anywhere else. :p

Right decision... Better to withdraw than to be beaten by low-ranked players... ;)

She's not only tired in her head and body but has the same injury as last year.
