17 is quite old when you look at what Vaidisova, Ivanovic, Sharapova, ect. have already done on the WTA.

Not everybody is like them...  Probably she won't be #1 in the world, but I believe (and I hope) she can do well...

She's #303 this week (was 305)

17 is quite old when you look at what Vaidisova, Ivanovic, Sharapova, ect. have already done on the WTA.
Indeed a lot of teenagers are already in the top 20 but there are also some great players like Mauresmo or Molik who weren't in the top 100 at 17 but who managed to reach the top 10 all the same.I hope it will happen to Madga too :D and since she improved her ranking a lot this year (from top 1000 to almost top 300 is quite impressive :worship: ) I'm optimistic.IMO, she will improve and improve and become a great player :D

next year there will be no 25 000 in her plan but maybe 250 000?? ;) I'm telling you she will be as good as Vaidisova or Ivanovic next year or year after..her ambitions are to win over Daniela and then Ana and Nicol..and they all are similar types of bodies so its gonna be perfect tennis to WATCH

I was afraid of that :( But I hope that I can watch her on the TV  BTW what kind of service she had? Like Vaidisova :scared: or like Lena D :o I saw in the stats that she made 6 aces and only 4 DF so it seems that she have good service right? And who is her fave surface? Thanx for the info :D

well look at the stats she had with Brianti a guess 9aces? or 11? iI'm not sure she has perfect servis and forehand these things are on world 1class level..Once I played with her She gave me like 180km/h srvice and I was just like what the.... you know what I mean?well she is tall..But magda is perfect person..I thought the same about Daniela in her age when she was 17 and I told her that once she will be in top5 and she was laughing as well as Magda and you see where is she now..But Daniela changed..and I was very sad about that..wll money chnge people..My opinion is that magda is now playing better then Daniela in her age so we ll see?But no doubt that I cant compare Nicol or Ana with magda yet..But everything takes time right? ;)

I saw dominika's play first time when I was in wimbledon this year and I saw her in first round Dominika is different player then magda and I know that a lot of people say that dominika is a great talent but I dont think that..My opinion is that when magda meets Dominika in match the result will be 6:3 6:2 for magda..Dominika is like 156cm tall and she has speed from God but no servis no forehand..I think she could be in top 50maybe 30..but between her and magda is a big difference..They are friends also with Juricova she is quite promising too..But Dominika is a great person and she dates Stachovski but you probably know that..The main thing is that Dominika has rich dad so he payes the magazines to make an iterview with her all the time and thats why everybody knows dominika in slovak tennis.. Its like Dominika has quite similar game as Dominik Hrbaty and Magda is like old Karol Kucera you know what I mean?Karol was talented but lazy Dominik is hardworking man but his talent level isnt that big.. but its hard to say now..they re so young..we ll see..maybe I'm wrong..and our Fed cup..yeah we are having the best coach now Mihal(he was coaching Hrbaty,Daniela,Kucera)...if girls will play in 2-3years girls like Gajdosova,Cibulkova,Rybarikova and Hantuchova..uff good bye mother Russia :worship:

I never knew Kurhajec was her coach,I guess that's why she played dubz with Lubka this week :p :D Btw,I'm glad Magda has a very supportive bf :D ;) I guess we will see you soon in her clan during the grand slams :p

in her clan?what is that mean..Kurhajec is her coach for like 6months now I guess..he and one other guy are coaching also Kurhajcova,Juricova,Winerova and Brosova, and the same chance could have also Cibulkova but she decided to not be a part of NTC so she has her own coach now..

Its like Dominika has quite similar game as Dominik Hrbaty and Magda is like old Karol Kucera you know what I mean?Karol was talented but lazy Dominik is hardworking man but his talent level isnt that big.. but its hard to say now..they re so young..we ll see..maybe I'm wrong..and our Fed cup..yeah we are having the best coach now Mihal(he was coaching Hrbaty,Daniela,Kucera)...if girls will play in 2-3years girls like Gajdosova,Cibulkova,Rybarikova and Hantuchova..uff good bye mother Russia :worship:

really?in bulgaria?she will play for 60per..but our new Fed cup Capitan likes her a lot so I hope she ll play..and yes she is tall that is why a wrote that matches with Ana,Daniela and Nicol will be somethin to watch :)

I was speaking with magda an hour ago and she told me that she could have win over Pirenkova because she had 4:2 and advant. and Pir.was serving..She also told me that Tzvetlana had unbeliveble returns that is why magda got only 6 aces...but she said she will win next time ;) we ll see..

Yep in Plovdiv :D I hope you can be here too :) I have some remarks - its Tsvetana Pironkova and the next time she will win again :p
I`ll tell you something about Tsveti - she is a fighter and thats 4-2 ->6-4 dont wonder me coz she make it all the time :D She won a match from 5-6*;0-40 and won 12-10 in the TB so Magda must be more careful next time ;)

well we will see about that..magda told me that in 3rd set in 4:4 30:30 they had like 2min play and runnig for everyball and magda played the ball with voley 2cm to out and that was what broked her I guess..Its hard for me to tell who will win because I have never seen Tsveti play and until I see her I ll let it open but I know magda and I'll bet she will win ;)

thank you for that..magda is very upset..and she doesn't understand that this happens sometimes even to the best players..She is definetly better player than Andrieux but..shit happens..

I still think it was a Perfect successful year and Magda should be proud at her self..she strated at 980 and finished at 280 and that is quite promising..I thin Ana Ivanovic did 608 places jump..and I hope and I know that the next year will be very very successful for magda..I thank you people for big support and I also thank you in Magda's name because she is glad about it too..We ll see you next year! :wavey: :wavey:

Europe/Africa Zone Group I: Round robin (TC Lokomotiv, Plovdiv, Bulgaria; red clay)
---------------------------------------

Pool A:
1. Slovak Republic (won 3 ties, lost 0)
2. Netherlands (won 2, lost 1)
3. Luxembourg (won 1, lost 2)
4. Finland (won 0, lost 3)

SLOVAK REPUBLIC d. LUXEMBOURG, 3:0 (Monday 17th April)
+ Magdaléna Rybáriková d. Mandy Minella, 6-3 6-3
+ Daniela Hantuchová d. Anne Kremer, 6-3 6-3
+ Hantuchová/Janette Husárová d. Minella/Claudine Schaul, 6-2 6-4

SLOVAK REPUBLIC d. NETHERLANDS, 2:1 (Tuesday 18th April)
+ Magdaléna Rybáriková d. Elise Tamaela, 6-3 6-2
+ Daniela Hantuchová d. Michaëlla Krajicek, 4-6 7-6 (7/5) 6-2
- Dominika Cibulková/Janette Husárová lt. Marrit Boonstra/Brenda Schultz-McCarthy, 6-1 0-6 4-6

SLOVAK REPUBLIC d. FINLAND, 3:0 (Wednesday 19th April)
+ Dominika Cibulková d. Katarina Tuohimaa, 6-2 6-1
+ Magdaléna Rybáriková d. Piia Suomalainen, 6-0 6-0
+ Cibulková/Rybáriková d. Suomalainen/Tuohimaa, 6-3 6-2

Slovakia had a great team this week, with Queen Daniela and her two lovely handmaidens (the beautiful Domi and the gorgeous Magda), and they won all their singles-rubbers! :hearts:

Daniela (after beating Krajicek): "There were really hard conditions, very slow and slippery clay. I think I had match under control, especially in third set. Why do they change tennis-balls after 9-11 games and not after 7th or 9th game? I feel sometimes that I hit the hard balls like a medicine ball, and I can't hit the ball on the other side of the court after 10th game."

----------------------------------------------
Europe/Africa Zone Group I: Promotion play-off
----------------------------------------------

SLOVAK REPUBLIC d. GREAT BRITAIN, 2:1 (Saturday 22nd April)
+ Magdaléna Rybáriková d. Elena Baltacha, 7-5 6-3
+ Daniela Hantuchová d. Anne Keothavong, 6-2 6-1
- Dominika Cibulková/Janette Husárová lt. Baltacha/Claire Curran, 4-6 3-6

I may be British, but I was delighted to see that Slovakia won this tie, with victories for Dani and Magda! :D

I only wish the BBC had had the decency to televise this mouthwatering tie. They televise every Davis Cup tie involving GB, but they wasted both their Freeview interactive channels on snooker! :fiery:

Slovakia face a play-off in July (draw to be made on 25th April) to go into World Group II for 2007.
GB remain in Europe/Africa Zone Group I.

This is an excellent result, given that Agnieszka Radwańska won the Girls' Singles title at Wimbledon 2005, and upset Anastasia Myskina at Warszawa this month!

Magdaléna must defeat Sara Errani on Monday to qualify for the main draw. How wonderful it would be to see Magdaléna at Wimbledon 2006 - but she needs to keep rapidly improving her ranking, which stands at #231 as of 22nd May.

Girls' Singles: Semi-finals
---------------------------

+ MAGDALÉNA RYBÁRIKOVÁ [6] d. TAMIRA PASZEK [10], 6-3 6-7 (4/7) 6-3

The match started on Court 3 at 17:18 BST. Freeview BBCi didn't show it as they were showing men's singles (BBC 1), old men's doubles (Freeview 301) and boys' singles (Freeview 302). So I contented myself by following live scores at www.wimbledon.org (http://www.wimbledon.org/).

First Set:
RYBÁRI * *@*__@* 6
PASZEK _*___*@__ 3

I'm not writing down the point-scores, but it seems that whoever gets to 40/30 in a game invariably wins it.

Magdaléna won the first set 6-3 at 17:41, but the second didn't start until 17:46.

Second Set:
RYBÁRI _*@ @* *__@_ 6(4)
PASZEK *__@__* *@ @ 7(7)

Serving at 4-3, Magda didn't close it out at 40/30, and had to save a break-point before holding for 5-3.

Paszek serving to stay in the match at 3-5: 30/15, 30/30, held.

Now the boys' singles on Freeview 302 has finished, and they're just showing the empty court instead of this! :fiery:

Magdaléna serving for the match at 5-4: 15/0, 15/15, 30/30, 30/40 (BP), 40/40, ad Paszek (BP #2), broken.

It's like Nicole Vaidišová's French Open semi-final all over again: a 17-year-old serves at 5-4 in the second for a place in a Grand Slam final and doesn't make it. Magda has had real trouble making her breaks stand in this match.

Paszek serving 5-5: 0/15, 15/15, 30/15, 30/30, 40/40, ad M (BP), broken.
Magdaléna serving for the match at 6-5: 0/15, 30/30, 30/40 (BP), 40/40, ad M (MP #1), Deuce #2, ad P (BP #2), broken.

6-6 tiebreak: Magdaléna *0/2, 1/2*, 2/2*, *3/2, 4/3*, 4/4*, *4/5, *4/6, Paszek won the second set 7-6 (7/4) at 18:35.

Third Set:
RYBÁRI *@* * * * 6
PASZEK ___* * *_ 3

Magdaléna serving 2-0: 40/0 -> 40/40, ad M, Deuce #2, ad P (BP), Deuce #3, ad M, held.

Paszek serving to stay in the match at 2-5: held to love.
Magdaléna serving for the match at 5-3: 15/0, 15/30, 30/30, 40/40, ad M (MP #2), Magdaléna won 6-3 6-7 (4/7) 6-3 at 19:08.

It's great to see Magdaléna progressing here, and to read what Rowland Goodman has to say about her over at the jeldani Yahoo! Group (http://groups.yahoo.com/group/jeldani/) (Messages 3637 and 3639). After her impressive run to the WTA Prague quarter-finals in May, she should really blast through any junior-tournament like an 'A' Level student tackling a GCSE paper.

Girls' Singles final (Saturday 8th July)
--------------------

- MAGDALÉNA RYBÁRIKOVÁ [6] lt. CAROLINE WOZNIACKI [4], 6-3 1-6 3-6

This was my first time to see the gorgeous Magdaléna play, and it was an enjoyable experience. I hereby promote her from my third tier of favourite players to my second tier, i.e. my demi-fanship.

The 17-year-old Slovak has a big serve, and a forehand with a long backswing that can be both a major weapon and an error-source - she would do well to develop a much more compact backswing on the forehand IMO.

Magda has both a two-handed backhand and a sliced backhand. The slice serves her well when she uses it to approach the net, but it's not a good sign when she slices and stays back. She hits a lot of dropshots - sometimes too many - and has beautiful drop-volleys ŕ la Daniela Hantuchová.

Magda is ranked higher in the WTA rankings than Wozniacki, but Wozniacki is seeded higher by the ITF junior-rankings.

The match started on Court 3 at 13:18 BST. Freeview BBCi didn't show it from the start, as it was scheduled on Freeview 301 after the boy's singles final on Court 2, while Freeview 302 was showing men's wheelchair doubles.

First Set:
RYBÁRIKOV _*__@*@*@ 6
WOZNIACKI * *@_____ 3

Wozniacki serving 0-0: 15/0, 15/15, 40/15, held.
Magdaléna serving 0-1: 15/0, 30/15, 40/15
Wozniacki serving 1-1: 15/15, 40/15, held.

Good news: Timo de Bakker just edged the boy's singles final on a second-set tiebreak, so now Freeview 301 are showing this!

Magdaléna serving 1-2: Magda forehand long - she has a big swing, very flat. 0/15. Magda narrowly missed a crosscourt forehand pass. 0/30. Ace down the middle. 15/30. Service-winner. 30/30. Wozniacki forehand volley-winner. 30/40 (BP). Magda saved it with an ace down the middle. 40/40. Wozniacki forehand winner down the line. Ad W (BP #2). Wozniacki backhand wide. Deuce #2. Wozniacki backhand long. Ad M. Magda netted a forehand. Deuce #3. Magda netted a backhand. Ad Wozniacki (BP #3). Wozniacki forehand winner down the line - after Magda slipped over.

Wozniacki serving 3-1: Magda forehand winner down the line. 0/15. Wozniacki netted a backhand. 0/30. Magda netted a backhand. 15/30. Wozniacki backhand drive-volley winner after Magda came in behind a sliced backhand but was forced to retreat by a lob. 30/30. Wozniacki forced a short ball and hit a crosscourt backhand winner. 40/30. Double fault. 40/40. Wozniacki backhand just long. Ad Magda (BP). Double fault.

Magdaléna serving 3-2: Service-winner. 15/0. Wozniacki backhand wide. 30/0. Magda hit a beautiful flowing crosscourt forehand winner just inside both lines. 40/0. Wozniacki netted a forehand.

Wozniacki serving 3-3: Wozniacki netted a forehand. 0/15. Magda forehand dropshot winner from the net. 0/30. Magda hit a flairsome backhand winner down the line - a touch of Daniela Hantuchová in that one. 0/40 (3 BPs). Magda hit a forehand wide and groaned. 15/40. Double fault.

Magdaléna serving 4-3: Double fault. 0/15. Service-winner. 15/15. Magda came in behind a sliced backhand, forcing Wozniacki to miss a backhand. 30/15. Wozniacki backhand return just wide. 40/15. Wozniacki hit a "super" forehand winner down the line, on the sideline. 40/30. Magda backhand drop-volley winner - beautiful touch.

Wozniacki serving to stay in the first set at 3-5: Magda hit another gorgeous backhand drop-volley winner. 0/15. Double fault. 0/30. Wozniacki backhand wide. 0/40 (3 BPs). Double fault. Magdaléna won the first set at 13:45.

Second Set:
RYBÁRIKOV *______ 1
WOZNIACKI _*@*@*@ 6

Magdaléna serving 0-0: Wozniacki netted a backhand. 15/0. Magda wild forehand volley long & wide. 15/15. Magda backhand dropshot winner from the baseline. 30/15. Wozniacki forehand pass just wide (two balls should have been called wide earlier in the rally). 40/15. Ace down the middle.

Wozniacki serving 0-1: Ace down the middle. 15/0. And again! 30/0. Magda forehand wide. 40/0. Magda wide.

Magdaléna serving 1-1: Magda netted a backhand. 15/0. Magda forehand winner on the baseline (Wozniacki complained). 30/0. 30/15. Magda netted a forehand. 30/30. Wide serve + backhand drop-volley winner. 40/30. Wozniacki Magda netted a backhand pass. 40/40. Magda hit a stunning off-forehand winner just inside the sideline. Ad Magda. Magda forehand long. Deuce #2. Wozniacki forehand winner down the line off a weaker dropshot from Magda. Ad Wozniacki (BP). Magda forehand long.

Wozniacki serving 2-1: Wozniacki netted a forehand. 0/15. Double fault. 0/30. Wozniacki forehand long. 0/40 (3 BPs). Magda didn't do enough with a high forehand volley, and Wozniacki hit a forehand pass-winner down the line. 15/40 (2 BPs). Magda backhand lob long after she drew Wozniacki to the net with a dropshot. 30/40. Service-winner (102mph). 40/40. Magda netted a backhand return, muttered in Slovak, and at this point I had to switch channels to watch Vera Zvonarëva's Mixed Doubles semi-final.

I may be a demi-fan of Magda, but Vera takes priority as she is a member of my Eternal Fanship - that first tier of favourite players that I've vowed to follow forever to the best of my resources.

But I caught up with this match later, as I dubbed it to my master video: Ad Wozniacki. Magda netted a forehand return.

It was quite windy now, judging by Magda's hair.

Magdaléna serving 1-3: Double fault. 0/15. Magda played a dominating rally, but hit a forehand long. 0/30. Magda hit a huge, error-forcing forehand. 15/30. Magda forehand wide. 15/40 (2 BPs). Magda ran down a drop-volley from Wozniacki, but hit a forehand long and smacked the net with her racket in frustration.

Liz Smylie criticised Magda's long swing on her forehand, saying that it doesn't give her time to adjust - especially in the wind - whereas Magda's backhand is a much more compact swing.

Magda's forehand does more damage, but makes more errors than her backhand. Liz Smylie said she needed to develop an alternate forehand with more topspin.

Wozniacki serving 4-1: Double fault. 0/15. Wozniacki lob long after a super rally of vertical spreading by Magda. 0/30. Magda forehand return wide. 15/30. Magda backhand long. 30/30. Wozniacki forehand drop-volley winner. 40/30. Magda netted a forehand return.

Magdaléna serving to stay in the second set at 1-5: Service-winner. 15/0. Wozniacki forehand just wide. 30/0. Magda forehand wide. 30/15. Magda netted a dropshot. 30/30. Magda netted a forehand. 30/40 (SP). Service-winner. 40/40. Service-winner. Ad Magda. She netted a dropshot. Deuce #2. Magda backhand long. Ad Wozniacki (SP #2). Magda backhand down the line just long/wide.

Wozniacki won the second set 6-1 at 14:13, which is good in that I can only borrow the other Freeview-box in my house until 15:15. :(

Magda is rushing between points now.

Liz Smylie said Magda's weapons were her forehand, her serve, and her creativity (e.g. use of the dropshot).

Third Set:
RYBÁRIKOV _*__@__*_ 3
WOZNIACKI * *@ @* * 6

Wozniacki serving 0-0: Magda's poor run of form continued as she hit a forehand long. 15/0. Magda netted a backhand after a 15-stroke rally. 15/15. Service-winner. 30/15. Double fault. 30/30. Wozniacki forehand lob-winner on the baseline. 40/30. Wozniacki backhand wide. 40/40. Magda forehand long. Ad Wozniacki. Double fault. Deuce #2. Service-winner. Ad Wozniacki. She hit a forehand wide after a lot of sliced backhands from Magda. Deuce #3. Wozniacki netted a forehand, threw her racket and got a code-violation. Ad Magda (BP). Magda netted a nervy forehand. Deuce #4. Magda backhand long. Ad Wozniacki. She came to the net, forcing Magda to hit a backhand pass wide.

Wozniacki's serve is both an asset and a liability: nine double faults so far, but a lot of damaging serves too.

Magdaléna serving 0-1: Serve + flairsome forehand winner down the line. 15/0. Magda came in and hit a swinging forehand drive-volley winner. 30/0. Service-winner. 40/0. Magda backhand lob-winner.

Wozniacki serving 1-1: Magda sliced a backhand wide. 15/0. Magda earthed a backhand off an awkward low ball. 30/0. Two service-winners.

Magda's backhand is too negative now: she's slicing it a lot, and not to come in behind it either.

Magda doesn't seem to trust her weapons any more. In the first set she was playing like Daniela Hantuchová; now she's playing like Katarína Studeníková. :o

Magdaléna serving 1-2: Wozniacki punished Magda's lazy sliced backhands by coming in to hit a forehand volley-winner. 0/15. Magda netted a tight backhand. 0/30. Ace down the middle (110mph). 15/30. Magda hit a big forehand right into Wozniacki's backhand-corner. Magda netted a forehand. 15/40 (2 BPs). Magda netted a backhand volley off an awkward low dropping ball.

Wozniacki serving 3-1: Magda netted a backhand dropshot from the baseline - if it's so brilliant, it's got to be good first. 15/0. Magda ran down a dropshot and hit a backhand long. 30/0. Wozniacki forehand long. 30/15. Magda ran down a dropshot and hit a stinging crosscourt backhand winner. 30/30. Wozniacki crosscourt forehand winner on the sideline. 40/30. Magda backhand dropshot + crosscourt backhand pass-winner. She knelt down to tie her shoelaces - a good tactic to take her time after all that rushing. 40/40. Wozniacki backhand wide. Ad Magda (BP). Wozniacki forehand volley-winner. Deuce #2. Wozniacki netted a forehand off a sliced backhand from Magda. Ad Magda (BP #2). Wozniacki backhand just wide.

Magda serving 2-3: Magda went for a forehand winner down the line, but it was just wide. 0/15. Magda ran around her backhand and hit a forehand wide. 0/30. Wozniacki forehand long. 15/30. Magda forehand wide. 15/40 (2 BPs). Wozniacki forehand return-winner on the sideline; Magda slipped over.

Wozniacki serving 4-2: Magda netted a forehand return and said something in Slovak. 15/0. Wozniacki netted a backhand on the run. 15/15. Magda forehand long. 30/15. Magda forehand just long - unlucky. 40/15. Magda hit a forehand winner down Wozniacki's forehand-sideline. 40/30. Magda netted a forehand, squealed and threw her racket the highest I've ever seen from any tennis-player!

Magdaléna serving to stay in the match at 2-5: Wozniacki went for a forehand winner down the line, but it was just long. 15/0. Service-winner. 30/0. Wozniacki backhand just wide. 40/0. Service-winner.

Wozniacki serving for the match at 5-3: Magda forehand return just wide. 15/0. Magda forehand just long. 30/0. Magda hit a spectacular forehand winner down Wozniacki's forehand-line. 30/15. Wozniacki backhand dropshot-winner. 40/15 (2 CPs). Magda hit a weak lob... Wozniacki won the match 3-6 6-1 6-3 with a forehand volley-winner at 14:46.

Magda finished with a winner-to-unforced-error ratio of 27:37, Wozniacki 19:28. Both girls like to dictate, but Magda was the more aggressive.

Liz Smylie: "You've got to have a 'B' game, because everybody figures out the 'A' game pretty quickly."

Magda must have been bitterly disappointed, but she put on a smile when receiving her runner's-up trophy. Wozniacki had a real big smile when she came forward for the champion's trophy.

As runner-up in the Wimbledon Girls' Singles, Magdaléna is in distinguished company!
1998 Katarina Srebotnik d. Kim Clijsters
1999 Iroda Tulyaganova d. Lina Krasnoroutskaya
2000 María Emilia Salerni d. Tatiana Perebiynis
2001 Angelique Widjaja d. Dinara Safina
2002 Vera Douchevina d. Maria Sharapova
2003 Kirsten Flipkens d. Anna Tchakvetadze
2004 Katerina Bondarenko d. Ana Ivanovic
2005 Agnieszka Radwanska d. Tamira Paszek
2006 Caroline Wozniacki d. Magdaléna Rybáriková

The runner-up tends to push on in her career rather more than the champion!

It was great to see Magda play for the first time even though she lost. :)

She has a great forehand and first serve. Those are her two weapons. She has good slice and a very good drop shot as well. Maybe she needs to not go for as many forehand winners as much and try to work the point a bit more. ;)

Hopefully she can go far on the WTA.

I have a back-log of videos to sort out, and have been trying to catch up on work that got put off for most of June.
I am trying some new video editing software to split large files - hope to have some more uploads soon. I can't get STV2, but I'm hoping to get a copy of the fedcup coverage in due course.

There is an article (with a photo) about Magdaléna's injury on p.32 of this month's Slovenský Tenis magazine, which you can download here (http://www.stz.sk/) (click on "26-40", and also "1-14" for another photo).

The article uses a lot of words that aren't in my Slovak dictionary, but the upshot seems to be that she has damaged (possibly broken?) a bone in her left foot (únavová zlomenina kostičky - all I know is that kosť = bone), which is expected to be in a cast for four weeks (from when the injury occurred?), followed by a period of rehabilitation.

I also learned from the article that her mother's name is AniMária Rybáriková. The word rybár means fisherman.

I saw her name in a list of players entered for qualifying for this next week's Sunfeast Open at Kolkata, but she does not appear in the draw.

I'm not sure whether this is a good sign or a bad sign. Of course I want to see her back on the WTA Tour (and regularly in the main draws too), but I don't want to see her make the mistake of trying to come back before she is fully healed.

(Transworld Sport may be televised in other countries, but the details in this message are specific to the UK.)

There is a seven-minute documentary on Caroline Wozniacki in this week's Transworld Sport, which is repeated with sign-language at 04:30 GMT on {Wednesday night/Thursday morning} on Channel 4.

And it includes two points against Magdaléna Rybáriková from the Wimbledon 2006 Girls' Singles final! :hearts: I hope to God that Magda can put her foot-injury behind her and have a great career, because she is both gorgeous and talented.

The documentary was 39 minutes into Sunday's broadcast of Transworld Sport, so I recommend 05:03 as a safe start-time for timer-record (the repeat is 5 minutes shorter than the original broadcast), and 05:21 as a safe stop-time (Transworld Sport has been known to start up to 5 minutes late).

Is the foot-injury still affecting her?
Or is she just struggling to find her form?

I really hope things work out for Magda in the long term, because in the middle of last year, she was a very exciting prospect.

PA Sport via www.wimbledon.org (http://www.wimbledon.org):
>>>
Daniela Hantuchová will lead Slovakia in the Fed Cup encounter with Czech Republic next month.

Igor Moška, secretary general of the Slovakian tennis-association, confirmed the 23-year-old's participation in the World Group II match which will take place in Bratislava on April 21 and 22.

Moška told www.tenis.sme.sk (http://www.tenis.sme.sk): "Daniela Hantuchová will be the captain of our team in the Fed Cup match against Czech Republic. She wanted to play on clay, so we decided for this surface."

He added: "Other members of our team will be Dominika Cibulková, Janette Husárová and Magdaléna Rybáriková.

"Jarmila Gajdošová announced that she will not play, and Martina Suchá will decide after coming back from a tournament in Miami.

"This match will probably be the most important sporting-event in the first half of 2007 in Slovakia."

Slovakia have played Czech Republic in the Fed Cup once before on a hard surface, losing 2:1 in 2000. On that occasion, Hantuchová beat Květa Hrdličková [now Peschke] 6-4 6-2, but Karina Habšudová lost 6-4 6-4 to Denisa Chládková before Habšudová and Hantuchová went down 7-5 6-3 to Dája Bedáňová and Hrdličková.
