I have to say that's a great effort Jacs who cares that its not totally corret. Now I have a challenge for you. Can you edit these post with the score line and who she beat in each final. I have to tell you now I have no way of knowing if you are right or not. I have followed Lindsay through most of these titles but I would have a hard time remerbering.

Fixed and with scorelines :)

It's interesting to note that most of Lindsay's earlier titles came on clay. Then again, most of the lower tiers were on clay anyway so I guess that could be one of the reasons.

Keep it coming Lindsay!

Oct 11th, 2005, 11:11 AM
Well done jacs, thanks for the scoreline too :D That standford 2004 win over venus - that was the one that kick-started Lindsay again; *We're not worthy, we're not worthy* LOL.

As for the clay thing....I think when lindsay was lowly ranked she was still a level above the people ranked around her which is probably why she did so great in those events. When Lindsay really started to find herself and built her game around her serve (about 95/96) she really started to adapt and love the hard courts & indoors.

Jacs when I threw down this challenge I didn't think you would actually take me up on it and do it but great job. Now that's its all down here maybe you could update it every time she win a title. She now three titles away from equaling Monica record of 53 titles. The way she's playing at the moment she might do it by the end of the year.

Thanks for going to the trouble of doing again great work.

what have i missed, what has linds been doing? has she won anything recently, injuries etc etc, any events, gossip. Clearly i need to know, i have been of computer for what seems 7 weeks, infact closer to 4 days...... i think i have missed quite a bit of stuff, what has she won wince like australia, cos i think that was the last event i saw on tv/live etc etc . xx *becks*

*Becks* you missed only 2 crapy losses to Sharapova in "Dubey" semis and to Martina in IW last 16...both in 3 sets and not impressive at all due to lower back injury - bulging L4 disc. Linds on rehab atm.
Lindsay will hopefully return in Istanbul just a week before RG and plans to play a "reduced" schedule during summer...that's what we know by now.

It's really sad that Lindsay hasen't won a title this year. I don't think she's made a final either, unless you count the exhibition in Shanghai at the beginning of the year. She has done well at the tournaments coming up though so she should be able to win a title.

That bothers me that Virginia Wade is above Lindsay in singles titles. I don't know why, I mean Virginia was a great player but I just think of Lindsay as in a better league. It would be great if Lindsay could get up to 60 before she retires, but as long as she's above 55 I'll be happy:)

She should pass Virginia, just three more to go, I can't wait for 2008, Lindsay is the Tier II Queen, and now that Hingis has retired again  She's the Tier I leader, so hopefully she'll improve her record at those events and the bigger ones ;)

I can't wait to see Lindsay playing IW and Wimbledon

I don't know who is Virginia Wade, but after looking at her wikipedia page, it seems like her career is very similar to Lindsay's. They have both won 3 single slam titles and they have almost the same number of single titles. However, Lindsay has been by far more consistent throught her career in slams and Virginia has never reached the #1 ranking.

We should maybe change the thread title? ;) :p

Virginia Wade is always commentating at Wimbledon for UK TV, she likes Lindsay's game, she called the Momo-Linds match in 2005 I think  I actually remember watching Venus-Maria that day 'cos I was too nervous  :tape:

Lindsay needs a whale! And yeah in 2000 the Indian Wells trophy was the same as the men's Master's Series trophy and in 1997 it was so weird semi-flat bowl/plate looking thing. I have a picture, but it's from that site we're not allowed to post pictures from so I can't post it here.

I know I have it somewhere in my blackhold of harddrive I post it in the next hours as I'm trying to find a match report from the netball world champs that Australia just won.
