Thanks for the list Luke.

Let's hope Na will not cancel at the last minute like in Taranto and Maglie :rolleyes: .

This is the next tourney after Hochiminh City for Jing Jing. I hope she will perform well there :D .

As for Tian Tian, if she is there, it is unlikely she'll be present at the tier III in Madrid. I wonder if Mi Ra will decide to go :confused: . So the place would be for Ka Po. If Ka Po does not go, will the place be given to a QF player :confused: (as Jie will not go either :rolleyes: ).

Wow... I didn't know that. The Vietnam event winner was awarded a spot in Madrid, tier III? If Tian-Tian decide early, I'll post the fact on Mi-ra's site to inform her about that.

I don't know the rull but Mi-ra didn't enter any Chinese events this time,... so hopefully she can go there.

Thanks for posting, danker.

I was happy to see Kyung-mi Chang entered. She need more match practice now.

She was leading 3-0 against Su-wei in Seoul breaking her serve twice,.. but soon after she showed some lack of match experience loosing first set 3-6. But she showed amazing forehand attack,... hitting style much similar with Junstine's.
And I added Kyung-mi Chang into my fave list this week. :D

Go, Kyung-mi!

glad to know Napaporn enter the main draws in $25,000 tournament for the first time. Her ranking is improving a lot after she reached QF in Vietnam. :kiss:

Hope she can do well here.:wavey:

Well done to Chin-Bee, Amber and Kyung-Mi. :)

Maybe tennis is not that popular in mainland China. I'm wondering there is a poster in this board from mainland China. Hope I'm wrong. :rolleyes:

Hi, danker :wavey:

I thought Kyung-Mi used up her protected ranking only for 1st round back to back loss to Cho in Japan. :eek:
She was seed #1 in the quali,..so she might have hoped to enter main draw with her normal ranking. Anyway she got some luck. :D She entered main draw as a lucky loser. :angel:
I don't think she would win whole thing here. But she definitely has good potential,.... best forehand attack from Asian girls I've seen, she has a lot to improve on though.

Go, Kyung-mi!

Bad news, Li Na withdrew due to sickness/injury. :sad:

3 wildcards were given to:
* Dong Yan-Hua
* Shen Lui-Li
* Peng Shuai

I don't understand why Shuai withdrew in the first place, otherwise the WC could have gone to another player. :rolleyes:

I'm not 100% on this, but I think the 4 qualifiers were :eek:
* Yu Ying
* Xie Yan-Ze
* Zhang Yao
* Yu Dan

Amazing if they qualified, if regular travellers like Chang, Khoo, A Liu, etc failed to do so. :eek:

Gosh, the thursday matches must be going on in China, and we still have not even seen a draw. It is just so frustrating every time an event is held in China. It is like nobody out there cares to inform the rest of the world what is going on. And Shanghai is supposedly the mosy internet-connected city in China. Doesn't anybody from there ever read any of these bulletin board or anything? -- there has got to be some news in some newspaper or somewhere (the english language newspaper - I guess the only one from China, the South China Morning Post - reports every other damn sports in the world but NEVER writes a word on any Chinese tennis events) ..

Is it some sort of a language issue or something (may be news is coming out in Chinese newspapers and nowhere else?) .. It's an international event, damnit - send out some news releases in English or French or Spanish or Swahili or whatever to somebody somewhere, please! Somebody in Shanghai must know some other language other than Chinese.

Aceman also still has nothing on the China challenger.

Sorry for the outburst. I am sick of being so frustrated at the lack of news from China - and this is not the first time.

lin, I managed to get some info at: www.whb.com.cn even though I can't read or understand a word of Chinese. :o

Jay, I totally agree with you there. It's same story everytime an event in China is held. BTW, the South China Morning Post is actually a Hong Kong newspaper, so they rarely report on mainland Chinese events. :(

Thank you aerolike! :wavey:
Let's hope Ryoko posts something soon.

The reason why Aceman has nothing yet is because the damn tourney director hasn't sent anything to the ITF yet, even he/she is supposed to every night. :fiery:

danker,I tried to find some news from China news' website,but there is still nothing :( .

And I found a article that is negative about Su-Wei :( .

The article said that the reason Su-Wei didn't come to Shanghai to play this week just because she and her father thought it's a shame if she lost to low-ranked Chinese player here :( :eek: .

And article also noticed that all 4 Taiwanese players all lost to Chinese players in qualifying :rolleyes:.

What's an awful article :eek: :( :(

Still, no main-draw info? :eek:

I only heard that 2 match result.

Jin-hee Kim advanced to quarterfinal. :eek:
Ka-po Tong advancing to quarter beating Kyung-mi Chang. :sad:

I was going to surf some Chinese news source on the internet for further result,... but I had better give up. It's quite discouraging news that even some Taiwanese posters can find nothing about that,.... considering my poor Chinese language skill. :o

This week has been so terrible ,.... to hear that Martina H. has career threatening injury, :sad: .... and I got some wrist and elbow injury due to my new racket.
