I guess that's what happens when it's held at a remote place like Balikpapan.

IMO, Balikpapan is not a remote place...it is actually an oil town and the most developed city in Kalimantan...Tarakan is indeed remote - further north near Malaysia border...Many foreigners in Balikpapan...

Jessy, Lutfi and Vivien got WC coz they practice at BMW's camp...(B-u M-artina W-idjaja...Bu shorten from Ibu means Mother);)

I was informed by the staff at PELTI, many players withdrew for example Valicekova's grandma is ill so she went home, grandma of a Vietnamese player passed away and indeed, players are not keen to play in Kalimantan. If they held in Surabaya, Bandung, Semarang, Solo or Bali...no problemo um sure! So, MD will not be out until later this afternoon.

That's what I meant by Balikpapan being remote (in the sense that it's far away, not undeveloped). There are not many flights going overseas out of Balikpapan, so players have to go home via Jakarta. I remember some players complaining in the past about how expensive flights were. A pity because it seems like a nice place.

Thanks for the results Adji! :)

BTW, why did you call Lutfiana, Cigarette girl?

Ur wellcum!;) Lutfi is originally from a small town called Kudus - west of Semarang, the capital of Central Java. Kudus is famous since some cigarette companies are located there. Kudus is known as cigarette town then.

Lutfi since she was small kid, has been coaching by her own father. With decent family background, everytime she plays in Jakarta - she always stays at her uncle's simple board just under the National Tennis Stadium. Her uncle is running a tennis pro shop there just next to the office of PELTI (Indonesia Lawn Tennis Federation).

Honestly, ever since I have been observing her game, IMO she is talented but her game was not inspiring for me until this year. Being realistic with her financial condition, she accepted the offer from BMW - the iron lady of Indonesian tennis who owns a tennis camp right behind her big house in South Jakarta. All this year, she has been trained there and indeed, she has been progressing significantly. As far as I know, she is 15 years old. Her weakness is lack of power due to her small and skinny body and it affects her weak serve. Her plus point is being motivated, determined and never give-up.

But overall Indonesian tennis is very very gloomy. Many talented players but none like Angie or Wynne when they were junior. After all, Angie and Wynne were blooming with their own family's effort financially. If the tennis development is on track then by next year Indonesia can have young girls shine at least in Grade 2 or Grade 1. But I don't see it at all. It is so pathetic experiencing Indonesian tennis. Definitely, there is something wrong in the development process. Too many like and dislike in Indonesian tennis just like our national politics.
