I have an idea.

All the grand slam should collect Venus dresses in their museums for the enjoyment of futur generations

If I were Reebok, not only would I not sign Venus, I would be looking for ways to void Amelie Mauresmo's contract. Why pay "The (Choke) Artiste" when you're getting free advertising from the reigning Wimbledon champion?

I honestly do not care about the contract status from Reebok's angle. It's more from why Venus is still sticking with their line that makes no sense to me.

Mauresmo may choke, or whatever you want to call it, but she is fairly solid player in general. She deserves the contract just as much as Venus!

Yeh really ugly serving from both players early on. Fujiwara finally held for the 1st time, now it's Venus' turn:)

It's her Wimbledon dress in another colour! Maybe she had this colour back in 2003 also?

Haha, maybe. I don't know its just weird. She should have a contract but she doesn't. Oh well, maybe after the US Open. :D

Maybe they're in negotiations and she's playing hardball. She should, especially after the slam win, and the fact that she wore their clothing free while winning it. They'd better resign her quick.

The dress is nice; she looks great.

 Yes, Venus borrowed Serena's Catsuit to become a burglar & sneaked into Nicole's hotel room :p

Edit: Although, I don't think Venus has the butt to fill it out so the back of the catsuit probably dragged the ground:lol:

I gather the Williams family has been fighting and a scrapping again, this time over the bloody hair dye bottle, old Oracene must have grabbed it first, She's gone blonde, then Serena snatched it off her,and poor Queen Vee had to make do with the last drops cause those other two used most of it up and She only turned out a sort of gingery tint, We need more order in the royal court!:fiery:

From Reebok's perspective, it would be foolish to sign Venus now; why pay for advertising you're currently getting for free? From Venus' perspective, I would think that going logo-less would be a better negotiating ploy; that way, it could turn into a bidding war between different companies.

I don't think Venus is getting new clothes from Venus, I just think that these are all of her old clothes from the 2003 season. I mean, she had the same three outfits (pink, black, white with skirt DVF prints) that she wore until the French Open. Then, her Wimbledon 2003 outfit is the same cut and almost the same design as her Wimbledon 2005 and US Open 2005 outfits. Sooner or later, Venus is going to run out of old clothes, though...

I love the dress, but it is the same as her Wimbledon dress only lavender. Since Reebok isn't a company anymore since Adidas bought them out, look for Venus to get a contract with Adidas after the US Open. She won't wear Adidas clothes, she'll wear the Reenok brand though.

I'll say it again, Venus' dress is HOTTT!!(this is froma straight guy). Serena's isn't too bad either. They are both in purple.

I guess I can live with the dress because I like the colour, the cut and the whole assemble works well for her. I hope by the end of the year she will be able to work out something for next year. Anyway my focus is on the matches right now.

Venus looks gorgeous. Well, except for those humongous pimples in her face; I really wanted to reach into the tv and burst them, lol.

I was thrilled to see her in something different; I don't care whether it's just the style or not. She and Serena are wearing compatible colours like they did in 2002. I like that, even though I'm not too thrilled about Serena's sheer skirt. They look nice but Venus is stealing the show from the outfits I've seen so far.

Venus will be showing off
some new styles to come.

Venus, who was wearing a mauve dress which she suggested was a "teaser" to more new styles which will be unveiled during the event, followed Serena on the Ashe Stadium and the crowd gave her a warm welcome.

Companies give players free clothes, they just don't pay them for wearing them. Venus might know a good steamstress too. With Venus still wearing Reebok, you know that something is up. Remember in 2000 when she renewed her Reebok contract after the US Open. It might be the same deal here. Venus' isn't paying for her clothes, shoes, or racquets.

Sonja

No offense, but I don't think Reebok would think it was foolish to sign Venus even though she's been wearing their clothes for free. She's fresh off a slam and imo still not at her best tennis level yet, so there's still more to come from her. If they don't pay for it, she could easily go elsewhere, and she's shown incredible loyalty to their brand.

As for Venus' perspective, to me she seems like the type to quietly take care of business in the boardroom rather than having it questioned on tv or in the papers. All the sports companies know that Vee's contact is up so, who's to say it's not already turning into a bidding war... She's a smart woman so I'm sure she's got it under control and knows exactly what she's doing.

Actually, I think it was 2003. I was referring to the orange and white outfits they wore. Serena had the white top and orange skirt and Venus had the dress. I think Serena won the Oz open in hers and Venus injured her stomach again at the FO when she lost to ZV. 2003?
