View Full Version : IF this final happened who would pick?

Aug 29th, 2005, 04:01 AM
Amelie Mauresmo vs. Kim Clijsters for the US Open Championship 2005? Both going for their first Grand Slam ever.

Aug 29th, 2005, 04:04 AM
Clijsters would destroy her.

Aug 29th, 2005, 04:06 AM
Imagine if the semis were Petrova vs Clijsters and Dementieva vs Mauresmo.

Kim is def. the favorite I see.

Aug 29th, 2005, 04:14 AM
i could totally see Kimmie and Momo injuring themselves at the same time, and both having to retire from the match...

Aug 29th, 2005, 04:15 AM
Finally someone picked MoMo!

Aug 29th, 2005, 04:18 AM
Clijsters. Think Chase final 2003.

Aug 29th, 2005, 04:30 AM
I think Clijsters would win quite easily.

Aug 29th, 2005, 04:35 AM
Clijsters. Think Chase final 2003.

Or Miami 2005. 1 and 0.

Aug 29th, 2005, 04:35 AM
If this was the final i would be pissed!! :fiery: (prolly CBS too..lol) But i'd have to pick Clijsters

Aug 29th, 2005, 04:45 AM
Neither, both would just keep double faulting and the first set alone would never ened.

Aug 29th, 2005, 05:26 AM
Kimmie :)

Aug 29th, 2005, 05:34 AM
Obviously it will be Kim Clijsters. Amelie only reached one slam final and was destroyed by Hingis. While Amelie is more surface rounded, Kim has shown she is much more of a hardcourt specialist more than anything else, be it indoor or outdoor. Amelie is gonna get blown away by Kim in USO.

Aug 29th, 2005, 05:37 AM
Kim for sure

Aug 29th, 2005, 07:12 AM
I picked Amelie because she is older and she is very deservant of winning a grandslam....although I would love for both of them to win equally they are both so good at the game and very worthy winners....they both lack mental toughness though...although kimmy a little fragile in her Toronto final against JHH in the first set but she recollected her nerves in the 2nd....I totally understand the mental block they go in....it happens to be alot....Good luck to both and i hope one of these 2 players prevail this year.....Good Luck Amelie and Kimmie....

Be great ,no U.S. in final, rather have Russians, but those two, shit! what would those 'I can't possibly want to win a slam' shitheads do? Christ. "Here I'll hit the bloody ball into the net,I wanna be runner up" "Non, wait I will commit the double fault, then You can win, Belgium Bitch" " Oh don't You know, be Momotonous,We can, You know, be friends, but pulease don't let Me win! and so it will come to pass- one set each , three games all third set, simultaneous injury retirements, neither of the buggers won, both kissy kissed at the net, Hell perhaps My worst bloody nightmare, a willy/Willy final wouldn't be the end of the World(but almost!)

Imagine if the semis were Petrova vs Clijsters and Dementieva vs Mauresmo.

Or a Petrova v Kournikova final.
