I have gone to a translator site and this is what is says:
Here the reaction of Mary on the place of n° 1 world-wide one of Maria Sharapova (source: the team of the day)

"Not easy to do a choice between n°1 world-wide one and a tournament of the big slam. As Maria Sharapova, the 2 last girls that were n° 1 (mauresmo and davenport) did not obtain no victory in big slam on the 12 flowed months. This is not for as much a place of number 1 to the reduction. Etre the better one on a period of twelve months, it is huge for that supposes than you perfectly knew you to prepare physiquement to hold the blow a year, than you knew to manage your calendar in order not to to be to injure and than you showed yourself to your better one on all the surfaces, in all the game conditions. The number 1 merit always his place. It is easy and unfair to bring a judgement of the exterior one. It is necessary to be humorously strong in his head and in his body to unhook the place of number 1. I well placed for about it to speak, since I never surpassed the third place. On the other hand, I I won two titles of the big slam and it is true that the public one perceives better the picture of the champion that brandishes his trophy. This is a colossal one, necessarily different emotion of the one that one must feel while taking the number pace 1 for one is rewarded on the current, there right away after the huge efforts during a group of fifteen.

Etre number 1 always does left my objectives."

Can someone (saby please, if your not too busy :) ) fix it up  coz most of it does not amke sense

LOL, I love the way that translated!

Mary says that although the last three players who ranked no. 1 had not actually won a slam during the last 12 months, that didn't diminish their achievement in any way; being number one is a lot of work, both mentally and physically, it also means playing consistently for 12 months regardless of the surface or any other factors that might affect the game. Mary then says that if you're ranked number one, you deserve it and it would be simply unfair to say otherwise.

Mary concludes by saying that being no. 1 remains one of her objectives.

Well I hope that helps a little, LOL...

Not easy to choose between, (to be) the n°1 in the world and (to win) a G.Slam.
As Maria Sharapova, the last 2 girls who were n ° 1 (mauresmo and davenport) did not win any G.Slam on 12 past month. It doesn't mean they don't deserve to be the number 1, it's not a "discount" ranking
To be the best over a period of twelve months, it is enormous because it supposes that you knew how to perfectly get ready physically to hold out one year, that you knew how to manege your calendar not to be to injured and that you gave your best on any surfaces, and all games conditions.
The number 1 always deserves her rank.
It is easy and inequitable to bring a judgment. It is necessary to be strong in the head and in its body to have the number 1 rank. I know what i'm talking about, because I have never exceeded the third place.
On the other hand, I won two G.Slam and it is true that the public perceives better the image of the champion which brandishes a G.slam trophy. It is the colossal emotion, necessarily different from the one you feel when you are taking the number 1 rank because you won a G.Slam after enormous efforts during about fifteen days.

To be number 1 is always a part of my objectives.

"To be number 1 is always a part of my objectives" Wow...it is said by Mary..? I just guess for the past decade..I never hear Mary that word be number 1 even she won the Austrian and Frenchopen. in my opinion Mary always a not ambition girl. For her, just enjoy the tennis and life are much important than become a powerful king. ummm....I think Mary said she want be number 1 because she have much confidence to do that... Why not? She is so fit now and experience..She can see through many many much much!!!
