Well, if she's doing well, there's lots of tapping, scratching, head-band straightening, panty-straightening, and the inevitable select-the-winning-ball-for-the-next-serve, so this is like a pretty routine straight set win time-wise.

Great win Conchi! wins over 2 top 30 players. She has her work cut out for her against Momo next round though--hasn't done well against her lately--

Momo leads 3-1

I love it when a talented up-start teen learns the hard way that Conchita is still a formidable opponent.

Sadly, unless Amelie sleeps on her neck wrong (aren't we about due for one of those?), Conchita's singles tournament is over. Does this win get her into the Top 40?

It definitely should, and should conchita lose tomorrow, i guess depending on whether players pull out of the open, maybe she will sneak into a top 32 seed?

Great win for Conchita! Keep in mind that she missed the entire indoor season last year as well. A few good results in the fall, a 3rd round showing at the US Open, and she could be back in the top 25!

Great tourney Conchita... :yeah:
Where're those who said Conchita couldn't even beat a top 30???
Don't care if you lose vs Amélie, your tournament is perfect now :)
Go out and grab doubles victory ;)

Congrats to Conchi. Though all i can think about it 'good news for Amelie'. She's not at her best, but i thought Dinara would be more trouble. Goooooooo Momo *High kick*
