That is TOTAL :bs:
:silly: :cuckoo:
:bs: :bs: :bs: :bs:

Why is this BS ?

The first five players in the Race to the Championship are Davenport, Sharapova, Clijsters and Henin-Hardenne and Venus Williams.

1DAVENPORT, LINDSAY (http://www.wtatour.com/players/playerprofiles/PlayerBio.asp?PlayerID=40106)USA3051.00 10
2SHARAPOVA, MARIA (http://www.wtatour.com/players/playerprofiles/PlayerBio.asp?PlayerID=310137)RUS2949.00 11
3CLIJSTERS, KIM (http://www.wtatour.com/players/playerprofiles/PlayerBio.asp?PlayerID=30458)BEL2681.00 11
4HENIN-HARDENNE, JUSTINE (http://www.wtatour.com/players/playerprofiles/PlayerBio.asp?PlayerID=80350)BEL2506.00 6
5WILLIAMS, VENUS (http://www.wtatour.com/players/playerprofiles/PlayerBio.asp?PlayerID=230220)USA2249.00 10

There are still al lot of points to be won.

Venus and Justine are the best in the slams of those five.

Kim and Davenport are the best indoor players and Kim is the best in the Masters.

Justine looks good to overtake all of them (only 500 points). Justine and Kim are the only ones to play in Toronto (TI) where the winner will take at least 350 points.

Venus wont be TOP5 at the end of the year
too many points to defend for the rest of the year compared to Belgians

furthermore I think she wont play too many tournaments

Vee only has about 450 points to defend at most for the ENTIRE year left. IMO - she picked up 720 points at Wimby alone this year.

Lindsay did'nt play the whole california hardcourt season in which she is defending a lot of points, yet Maria wont get it until next week. How much more if Lindsay is playing?? Indoors? Get real!!! And somebody put her in number 5? 4?

Worst Case scenario for Lindsay is number 2.

Babolatpro880
Aug 17th, 2005, 06:50 PM
It's highly unlikely that Kim will finish this year at six, seeing as if she goes one round farther than Serena in Toronto she'll get to number six already, and she has just a SF in Hasselt to defend for the entire rest of the year, and she's very good indoors.

I think it'll be something like this:

1. Davenport
2. Sharapova
3. Clijsters
4. Henin-Hardenne
5. Mauresmo
6. V. Williams
7. S. Williams
8. Pierce

Maths isn't some people's strong point is it. There is I GS, 1 YEC and an indoor season left - only 1 person can actually win a tournament - if they do other people don't. Its impossible for all of the people on some of these lists to make the top 10 unless they start sharing wins.

Apart from that as nearly all the top 15 are injured or inconsistent or both its a wise man who would predict who will actually turn up to any tournament let alone who will make what points by the end of the year.

I don't think so either but so many players in front of her are in slump or injured and could soon fall out without her doing much :tape:
But next year, she is bound to be legit top 10
