What looked like a great field has now seriously been weakened. It's such a shame for the tournament and I only hope they will all be ready for US Open.

Please, noone!!
It's getting sad, sad, sad.

And WTA Tour still insisting that all these is just a coincedence. :o

With Chakvetadze and Pierce...i think it's at 12 withdrawals now. LA was 15 I believe.

If this continues the end is inevitable - someone will pull a Likhovtseva and reach the finals like she did last year and then get demolished against the only decent player still in the draw. :o

well if it continues like this Ana could get up to no.12 seed for US Open, bad for those girls but good for ANA!

still sucks but the tournament still has Clijsters, Serena, Justine and Amelie. 4 huge names!
but they did loose Pierce, Maria and Venus, huge blows as well.
