Lena better have won ;)

me just pissed, Hanna got a tough draw
she's good indoors and on clay.
Hanna not getting a WC was a tough choice for Jenny Lindstrom
she's pals with both Sofia and Hanna and played with both.

and with it being the Nordic Open, WC's were spread about.

is this tourn going to Copenhagen next yr ???

just some indoor courts close by (site says 100m from Centre Court)
with it being Stockholm, thats not that too hard to find

I think Hanna was so disappointed that she not have the WC , so she has big problem to concentrate playing today. Then she got the hardest draw in the qualies. Even worse than playing MD
I think she was very sure about the wc, she almost had a promise. She has her name and photo all over Stockholm, to promote the tournament. I think they do 100% wrong to her, just look at her results this summer. And don´t forget her opening match against Molik last year.
I feel very sorry for her...

However cool that would be I doubt it very much, they can hardly find enough sponsors to organise a $10K here, so I don't think there's basis for a tournament of this size in Denmark yet. Even with a couple of decent ATP players, they cancelled the men's Copenhagen Open a few years back.

Perhaps in a few years time, when Caroline is well established on the tour and a few of the other youngsters have improved enough not to be humiliated in the quallies, we can dream of a WTA event in little Denmark :)

Next year, it will be held in Stockholm again, I read somewhere.
But Nordic Light Open is a nordic tournament, isn't it? So, Nordea could sponsor it as well (?). And as far as I know, there are plans to move it around "inom hela Norden"! And as there are no Norwegian players in sight (and Helsinki and Stockholm had their turn)...
And there's neither a Swedish Top100 player...

I also feel sorry for her, but what was an alternative? It's a kind of politcal thing. There are two WCs! One WC for Arvidsson as the best Swedish player. Ok, as it is an Nordic tournament (not a Swedish!) and it is held in Stockholm, so I can understand to give the second WC to one player out of DK, FIN, N.... and as Caroline Wozniacki is very promising...

Yeah I'm obviously very happy that Caroline got the WC, though one for the qualiies would have been good enough, it's just sad to see that a player that has had a great run this summer won't be participating in the major Scandinavian tournament.

As to moving it around I really hope that it will come to Copenhagen, but tennis needs to have more impact in DK first, hopefully it will be possible in '07 or '08 :)

Ok, in Sweden there are always some men who are playing at least Top 50 (for years), so it is rather a "tennis nation"...

very good to see that Hanna have fans :)

I think she is the best of Sofia and her, but Hanna had some trouble with her injuries. Hanna definitly plays the most entertaining tennis.
And I wish her a real breakthrough in the US Open, because I know she had it all in her, she must only let it out.

Well in Denmark Kenneth Carlsen has been the leading player for a decade or so, he's usually placed somewhere between 60 and 90 in the rankings and has won three ATP titles. That's quite a great achivement, but when he loses a match he's usually ridiculed by the media. Partly his own fault since he for many years insisted he could be in the top 10 :) but that's the kind of pressure players are facing here.
Luckily Caroline has such a winning appeareance that she is held in high regard among the Danish journalist, that will naturally rub off on the "broad" audience and hopefully lead to more $$ from the sponsors :D

Aleksandra, good effort :(

And was normal Sofia would get the wc, because as it was said before they have to spread the wc's between "Nordic players"

Last year was just an exception since Sofia Arvidsson was Swede #1, and Asa Svensson had a chance to go far in the tournament supposedely.

Too bad for Hanna, but sure next year she won't need any wc's if she continues working as she is now :) and hopefully Sofia won't need it either :) :D
