I just read that it is even INDOORS. Japan can't be so stupid and chose Maleeva's favourite surface....

Aiko has quite a task in front of her, but if Japan wins at least one of these singles matches they can surely beat the Bulgarians in doubles with Rika or AKiko in doubles!

Aiko!!!?????? She has not been that great in Fed Cup so far, she needs to get one of these matches....good showing against Maleeva though....All they need is ONE of these next TWO singles matches and I expect tyhem to take the doubles.

oh Bulgaria  :sobbing:

doubles
Morigami/Fujiwara def. Pironkova/Penkova 6-1 6-2

Sesil cried after the match :bigcry: :sobbing:
missed many chances, had GP to level it 5-5 in the first, second set was absolute unconcentrate and she did the same errors as yesterday

Maleeva had a SP in the first set at 5-3  :sobbing:

very very sad

Sesil :( Very, very bad, too. Tzvetana should have played,,,,

Tzvetana should have played

just what I said yesterday they wrote about Sesil's match today
she lost because of yesterday and made the same errors

there was only ONE wise decision which Maleeva could have made after her loss - to let Pironkova play

She would have won, I'm sure, when it's important it's really important for her
you can't imagine how she played vs Yoshida last year when we were trailling 1-2 and had to level it to hope for doubles

Yes, but it's always easier after the match.

I am sure that Sesil was hungry and I am also sure that Maggie thought about it. I think if Maggie won Sesil would have been the right player, if she lost Tzveti. But if you ask me Maggie's loss was crucial and that indoors (okay, she dislikes decoturf, but still)..... I just think we belong to WGII.

I think if Maggie won Sesil would have been the right player, if she lost Tzveti

yes exactly

and of course, that we belong to the World Group II
with three players in Top 130 there was no other place for us

but ok maybe next year and maybe not vs Japan

crazillo
Jul 10th, 2005, 09:43 AM
I hope they can do it without Maggie then.... Probably she will reconsider her decision now considering the "new" situation, becasue I am sure that one of her main aims this year was to bring BUL back to WGII.

Well, I hope all will practise very well now AND Maggie hopefully will show some strong WILL to compete on a high level.

Yes, next year. :)

Akiko is so confident to play for the country and especially in front of her home crowds.
Japanese players often play on this surface (this place as well)... They had a big advantage on this surface even though it was indoors (rainy season! yicks) this court suraface really fits Akiko's play.

After Akiko's match, she mentioned about Sesil.
She hits really great, once she starts hitting aces, no one can stop... but once I change the game plan and tactic, the game just came into my side...

She has a good potential...just more experience huh?

Aiko won too. That was a big suprising... well done!

I saw their practice scene...and Japanese team was really relaxing... and they know each other really well. Good Job, Japan!!! :)
