This match was ugly, especially the mistakes committed by Vinci whenever she had her opportunities to get ahead of Kim.

Judging by the stats (at least ESPN showed a few points  ) it was a very good showing by Roby in her first Center Court match. This experience against Kim will help her down the round.

It's been a terrific two weeks and her wins over quality opponents will give her tremendous confidence. :bigclap:

Keep charging, Sweetie

Congrats Kimmie :)

playing against a net rusher is always gonna get you less UE's as nearly every pt you lose with other at net is gonna be counted as a forced error.

Roby played good in parts, she can play better, lots of nice touches as normal, good to see her carrying on the good run :)

she's gonna get better, if only she was a bit taller

She came into the net because Vinci brought her into the net, they went just random net approaches really

Encouraging news that she didn't play her best. The best is yet to come then! :D

First time I saw Roby play!

I thought it was an entertaining match because you have so little serve and volleyers on the WTA nowadays.

Roby's netplay was impressive, but her groundstrokes really sucked! It seemed she was always too late or too early. She should develop a topspin backhand, because otherwise she won't win matches on a hardcourt.

Well done Kim...

I must say, I was surprised at how well Vinci volleyed. And it goes to show that if a top player, with a bigger serve and better groundstrokes than Roberta, would be willing to attack the net, they could be really effective.

Well, Roberta was on center court for the first time in her life... and that must send some adrenaline through your body! I'm really glad she's played so well, even though yesterday she wasn't as solid as she was last week at Eastbourne, or in the previous two rounds. It's good to see someone playing that kind of tennis, every once in a while :D Of course, congrats to Kim for a solid win and good luck in the next round, I'm sure it'll be a tough one with a pretty in-form Lindsay :D

Good to see a serve volleyer on the tour and doing it well.

I didn't get to see the match (much as I like Roberta, I wasn't going to pay 48 to watch her lose, nor was I going to waste my time at Wimbledon sitting on a hill watching telly! ;) ) but from following the scoreline while I was watching another match, it looked like Roberta did really well, considering she was playing a top player and was on Centre Court for the very first time. I was afraid she might get too nervous to play well, but I think all in all 6-3, 6-4 is a very respectable score for her in a GS against one of the favourites for the title. Hopefully she can build on the confidence she must have gained over the past two weeks and continue her success on the hardcourts.

Seeing her doing a serve and volley make me realise I miss Nathalie Tauziat!
