With the 2nd round finished, who do you currently think will make the quarterfinals? I think it will be:

Davenport v. Kuznetsova
Mauresmo v. Washington
Ivanovic v. V. Williams
Petrova v. Sharapova

Davenport has been on song, but Clijsters may exhibit her grass skills.
Kuznetsova only has to worry about getting past Vaidisova, who is due for her slam breakthrough, but I tip SK because she's a more consistent player.
Mauresmo is fantastic on grass, and has a great chance this year with S. Williams off form.
Washington is the second best player on grass (currently) her eighth of the draw, but Dementieva has been very plucky lately.
Toss up between Ivanovic and Daniliidou, but Ivanovic has had the benefit of easier matches. I'll be rooting for Daniliidou though, nice to see her looking strong again
V. Williams can overcome Hantuchova, and S. Williams has looked sloppy of late, probably the lack of matchplay, but VW is my pick. Hope it's a quality match, though.
Petrova's draw is wide open, only Conchita Martinez can really stand in the way.
Sharapova's draw is wide open.

The top quarter is most interesting now. Neither Williams sisters are yet on form, and the depth of up-and-comers in the top quarter is impressive. Davenport and Clijsters are playing nicely, Maleeva is perennially tricky, and the Vaidisova v. Kuznetsova match is intriguing.

The bottom quarter is least interesting, since the two top players have very nice routes into the quarters. Clay courters, doubles specialists, and Nathalie Dechy are the only distractions. Not a lot of depth, even with two former champions.

bump...change the three names that may have been eliminated if you need.
Now, I'd say:

Davenport v. Kuznetsova
Mauresmo v. Dementieva
Ivanovic v. V. Williams
Petrova v. Sharapova

I'm glad Dementieva went through, even if it means I was wrong :(
I'm also going to root for Daniliidou. I want her to get back on track, and back to the top twenty.

Good luck in rounds 3 and 4!

Clijsters vs. Kuznetsova (Kim will be back to owning Davenport.)
Mauresmo vs. Dementieva (Likhovtseva could challenge Mauresmo though. And I don't think that Myskina can put up a performance like the 4r again.)
Ivanovic vs. S. Williams (Although I would rather it be Daniela.)
Martinez vs. Sharapova (Experience trumps Petrova at this point.)

Davenport vs Kuznetsova

I would JUST give Lindsay the nod over Clijsters in the round of 16, simply because I think the surface favours Lindsay's game a lot and she will have that little bit extra confidence having beaten Kim in Paris. Having said that, I think Kim could almost as easily take Lindsay to pieces again - but I narrowly favour that not to happen.

Mauresmo vs Myskina

Mauresmo could have her work cut out against Likhovtseva on grass, which is the Russian's best surface. If Suarez can take Mauresmo to 3 on grass last year, then so can Elena. I predict Mauresmo to have JUST too much, though, and on grass she has less pressure - she can just stay in the moment, and fight to stay in the tournament. In Paris I feel she just loses her fighting spirit in tough situations. Either two tough sets to Mauresmo, or she'll go through in 3.

I think that although Myskina looks painfully thin (has anyone else noticed that?), her game is slowly coming back together. She seems to have a mental edge over Elena, and I don't see that changing in light of the fact that Ana seems to be recovering from her slump.

Serena Williams vs Danilidou

I think that Serena will be a lot meaner against her sister than she was in Miami, and in the end will be too good. She wants another Wimbledon title badly, and I favour her to get it.

I think Danilidou will have it tough against either Ivanovic or Pierce, but she's riding the wave of confidence, and I think at her best her game will be too strong on grass for either of them.

Sharapova vs Petrova

I don't see anybody stopping Sharapova until Serena does, and it's a close call between Petrova and possibly Martinez. Martinez has a good record against Petrova, and seems to break down her game as she does so many power players. Having said that, at the end of the day Petrova has the perfect weaponry for grass - Martinez (despite her title), doesn't. So if Petrova can learn to cope with Martinez's slices, then she will sweep her aside.

Quarters:

Clijsters def. Kuznetsova :)
--Clijsters vs. Davenport will be epic though...it's gonna be amazing, I cannot wait.
Dementieva def. Mauresmo
--yes. I have full belief in this.
Eleni Danillidou def. Serena Williams
--this sucks, but i really think this will be eleni's breakthrough slam and she will get back up there in ranking after a big confidence boost from being JHH and Serena in the same tournament.
Sharapova def. Petrova
--don't really care who wins, but I'm sure Sharpie will.

Semis:

Clijsters def. Dementieva  :)
--yes. Clijsters owns LenaD. I don't see Lena getting past this. 3rd straight defeat for Lena this year...in straights
Sharapova def. Eleni Danillidou
--this could be epic but I'm sure Sharpie's gonna want it more.

Finals:

Clijsters def. Sharapova :D :worship:
--yup. straight sets too. Clijsters will win her first GS against Sharpie.

these are just predictions but this is what i am pretty sure of:
Momo won't make the semis and Clijsters/Davenport will be in the finals.
