I have to play a clay court tournament this weekend  & I have little to no experience on it:( It is green clay though.... Does anybody have some tips that would help someone who is strictly a hardcourt player who likes to Serve & volley :devil... only occasionally though;) mostly just hit hard flat groundies

What type of serve will be most effective?? (Topspin, Slice, Flat) & is a slice backhand effective on the green clay?

Thanks in advance for any helpful tips you might have....

ok, I'm going to reply to bump your thread up, because i want you to do well, but I can't help you.

I serve & volley, only slice my backhand most of the time, and compensate for my complete lack of power by volleying, dropshotting and hacking/annoying my opponent into submission. Not exactly condusive to clay court tennis and possibly why i've never won a competitive match on it :o

Hope others can help though ;)

Never try to change your gameplan when your playing on a different surface than usual.
