Broken again!

I'm looking at the stats online - It appears she having trouble with the serve - not enough good first serves and losing most of the points off her second.

Is anyone watching on TV?

i know what ya mean pilongo.lena showed spirit and determination and won even playing so bad and with 17 dfs.hopefully in 3r she will not force it and play freely.at least she is doing better than last year and shown she has improved her game and mentality

Great pics BUBB!!

Yes - the win today looks good. :clap2:
Hopefully she can keep it up after the extra rest. Anastasia up 4-0 in the first, so perhaps a rematch of the 'old friends'.

GO GO LENA

Since the beginning of Wimbledon I find Lena surprisingly cool and relax, she seems to have fun and enjoy each match even in hard moments...

There's an Elena interview on the wimbledon website from Friday's match:

Yesterday I arrived back from Wimby for this year. I was able to watch Lena a little in her first 3 matches but I did not have enough time this year to watch her fully so I was only able to take very few photographs. And I was in a very bad position. I will put them here if any are good when they are developed.

But also I saw her tuesday afternoon outside "the CEL" after she had practised, and I have to say she looked very cute. She was with Vera waiting to get a car and it looked like she did not know who to give her travel ticket to. She tried to give it to maybe 4 people and then finally the person took it and got the car for her. But before that she was looking a little bit like she was lost.

That's the way it was looking and should have been... But strange things happen when you get closer to the finish line... :tape:

I have to say, Myskina's win was one of the biggest comebacks I've ever seen, and all credit to her, but what on earth happened to the serve in the end? She stopped bending her knees!

Neither Lena or Nastya are mentally tough players, but at the moment Myskina is the tougher player. It's a pitty because it looked like Lena caught her on an off day. If it's any consolation though, I don't think either player could have won Wimbledon. Once they run into Kim or Lindsay or Maria, their serves won't hold up. Myskina will self destruct and Lena's serve is a liability.

Elena may have lost, but she made just THREE double faults. I find that amazing.  And she had less unforced errors than Myskina. And still lost ... incredible.

Lena got tight and choked. Every GS this year she's choked away matches she should have won. Hopefully Richard will keep working with her and she'll have a good serve for the U.S. Open.

God, there are days I'm tempted to jump ship--but I won't. But please, Lena, just one GS. We could live on that forever.

Nasty is my second fave, so I wish her well. But I really think Lena had a better chance to make the finals, had she been able to get by Nasty.

Then again, Nasty is better at winning ugly than anybody else in the Top 10. She's certainly on roll, and if she's got her confidence back, she might be able to sneak, cajole, conjure and grift her way into the finals.

thats great.only 3 and i assume the serve was good in the first set.it even mentioned on teletext match report that lena had a much improved serve.im really dissappointed but i definately would have taken this at start of wimby.and remember the scare lena got in 2nd round i think where she only won 8-6 in third set.im delighted lena did so well.and she gave 100%. us open here we come.
