Welcome for the second week of grass tennis this year. Eastbourne is the larger of the two events held this week, wich is clearly reflected by the players field. It promises to be one very exciting tournament.

PYW's top player has left the tournament, 1 British qualifier defeated the number one seed and 2 Grand Slam winners still up and running: that's the total sum of what the 2nd round brought us
Yes, you heard it right. US Open Champion, number one player in the world and 5 time PYW tournament winner Daniela Hantuchova has lost her 2nd match at Eastbourne. Anastasia Myskina totally demolished her with a 6-2 6-0 score, one of the hardest beating the Slovak Star ever got. Ofcourse all props to Anastasia Myskina, who is the number 3 in the world after all and the current Australian Open finalist.
The woman Myskina lost to in that Melbourne final was Shinobu Asagoe. The Japanese defeated the Russian in a 3rd set tiebreak that time and they could meet again in the semi finals this tournament. That is ofcourse if Asagoe finds the strength to keep off Anne Keothavong.
In the bottom half of the draw, we discover the presence of 3 PYW top players. First we have the battle of the Blondes. 7th seed Kim Clijsters meets Alicia Molik. The Belgian comes strong into this match, with her last lost match dating back to Miami. The Australian on the other hand, has been away for a while with an ear infection.
The last quarterfinal is a showdown between Ai Sugiyama and Svetlana: both are feeling comfortable on the grass and it's hard to predict who'll come out as the winner.
So let’s see who will win and go through to the semi finals.
There’s only one way to find out: VOTE!
