Well, Venus is healthy this year going into the FO, or at least she seems to be, so I rate her chances as good as any top player. She can run all day long if she has to and she likes to rally and set up for the winner , and that's a good thing as clay is a very demanding surface where patience is very important,so I suspect she will have a good shot at getting deep into the tournament and maybe even winning it. I hope she can overcome her mental issues because when she does she will have a definite chance of winning the whole thing.

Justine looks like the strong favourite more and more though, with Serena out  Kim injured and Sharpie, Davenport and Mauresmo won't pose a big threat to Henin on clay due to obvious reasons IMO. But this scenario might also prove very beneficial to Venus because she can also take advantage of this situation. I hope Venus will have a good tournament and that she no matter her results will stay healthy. Good luck Venus :bounce: :bounce:

Venus would be my pick to come through her half of the draw; it's a piece of cake in the scheme of things. I'm still not sure I'd pick her to win the title, but I'll probably be surprised if she loses before the final, especially if she wins the title in Istanbul tomorrow. Nothing like winning to boost your confidence.

Although a little muted because of Serena, go Venus and good luck. I hope she does exceptionally well.

I like her back-to-basics decision to do Istanbul. It should give her just a bit more confidence in her play and get her through to the quarters. After that, she has to find a way to remember the player she was (and can still be) on those big points in those big matches.

With all due respect, Venus doesn't need luck. If she plays the type of tennis she's capable of playing, SHE WILL WIN!

If people only knew how bad I want Venus to take this title. I would be literally beside myself if that happened. With Serena out, Venus can relax and just play her tennis and not worry about her foe. Venus this is your moment, you must take it and achieve.:worship:

I'm loving Vee's draw. Her only threat is Myskina, but Ana has had a rougher year than Vee. Maybe this is Vee's turnaround. It's not like she hasn't won a grand slam before and it's not like she hasn't been to the finals of RG. She just needs confidence. So, here's a big...
