if sabatini's the best claycourter to fail to reach french open final (unthinkable when she reached semi as 15 yr old), think mauresmo must be by far the best to fail to even reach semi, so much for home advantage
do u think her lack of a favourite tag may aid her this yr where the favourite tag may have hindered her in the past?

Chanda Rubin. 3 QF's :) (1995, 2000, 2003)
En route with crazy wins...:scared:
down 0-5 3RD Set in 1995 vs. Novotna, comes back saving 9 match points to win 8-6

more of an all court player who grew up on hardcourts than a claycourt player who seemed destined to get to the final of the french if not win, like mauresmo and sabatini
still remember that novotna match tho, one of many marathons for chanda

i don't chanda is actually all that great of a clay court player even though roland garros has been her best slam besides for the Australian Open.
she's just a great fighter but i think she plays much better tennis on faster surfaces.

No, Amelie's not being the favorite won't help her at all. The only year she was THE favorite was last year, when she actually did better or just as well as when she was one of the favorites (2001, 2002, 2003.) Momo will never win Roland Garros, even if she had to play only the bagel girls.:o
