OMG,   I new it, I knew that stupid bitch Jecmenica was going to do something stupid  , I predicted that she was going to put out of form crappy timotic to play singles :fiery: :fiery: :fiery: :fiery: , and she did. NOW Serbia does not stand a chance what's so ever, it's all over. Captin is to blame, next year Nenad Zimonjic or some male person should lead a much stronger team.

Ahh, well praise Jankovic for playing :worship: , she definetly knew the team wasn't gonna reach the play-offs she just didn't want serbia to be relagated further down.

Two people to blame for the early exit of Serbia and Montenegro
Ana Ivanovic :fiery: and Tatjana Jecmenica (seriously this women knows shit about tennis, somebody fire her ass :o )
I think JJ should have been a playing captain like Bulgaria.

Ana Timotic is a joke, to win only a game to out-of-form Pisnik. Go to hell Jecmenica why didn't you put Jovanovic to play! She could atleast win few game more. Bye,bye Serbia. I don't see a point of this. There is no way Ana and Jelena will play next year for a team that is in EA G1!

Tina's yesterday's post match statement:

"Zelo sem zadovoljna z igro. Opazila sem sicer, da mi manjka nekaj eksplozivnosti in fizične vzdržljivosti, toda roka mi še vedno odlično služi. Le glava me boli za znoret, saj so bolečine v vratu vseskozi prisotne,"

"I'm happy with my game. I noticed that I'm missing some of the stamina and momentum, but my arm is still serving me well. Only my head hurts like crazy because the pains in the neck are present constantly."

Nothing published for today, we'll most likely know after all the matches are played.

For Slovenia V SCG the results were up the quickest at Slovenian site http://sportal.siol.net/default.asp?site_id=1006 if somebody is interested. It's only in Slovenian, but the basic information is very obvious.

5. METHOD OF DETERMINING PLACES IN THE ROUND ROBIN
(i) Each Tie will consist of three matches, two singles and one doubles.
(ii) The Nation that wins the majority of matches in the Tie shall be declared the winner and shall be awarded one point.
(iii) If two Nations score an equal number of points, the head-to-head result between these Nations shall decide the winner.
(iv) If three or more Nations score an equal number of points, the number of matches won shall decide the winner.
(v) If matches won are equal, the number of sets won shall decide the winner.
(vi) If sets won are equal, the number of sets lost shall decide the winner.
(vii) If sets lost are equal, the number of games won shall decide the winner.
(viii) If games won are equal, the number of games lost shall decide the winner.
(ix) If any match is stopped and not completed for reasons of injury, etc., the full score shall be recorded. Example: Player A leads over Player B by 61 20 when Player B is injured and unable to continue. Player A’s victory shall be recorded as 61 60.

Situation in group B:

Netherlands 2:0 matches 5:1 games
Luxembourg 1:1 matches 3:3 games

Luxembourg's only chance to reach the play off is defeating the Netherlands with 3:0 and this is nearly impossible. (And I guess that Sweden will beat Poland, thus the w/l matches record will count)

Do you think she can beat such an experienced top-30 player who has been so consistent this year and didn't lose to a player below 29 (Hantuchova) except Stosur (which was in Australia where she is certainly on that level)? I think Maleeva in two or three sets.

Well since I wanted to know what would be the possible scenario's in group B I did some calculations beforehand.
At the moment this is the top-3 after 2 rounds:

Ties Matches Sets
Netherlands 2-0 5-1 11-3
Sweden 1-1 3-3 7-8
Luxembourg 1-1 3-3 8-7

As written before:
1) if Netherlands wins against Luxembourg, the Netherlands go through.
2) if Luxembourg wins against Netherlands and Poland beats Sweden, Luxembourg goes through
3) if Luxembourg wins against Netherlands, and Sweden beats Poland, you have the following 4 scenario's:

A)
Luxembourg bt. Netherlands 3-0
And Sweden bt. Poland 3-0
Then Luxembourg goes through
Sweden/Luxembourg tied at 6-3 matches.. but
Luxembourg has 14 sets won and Sweden 13 sets

B)
Luxembourg bt. Netherlands 3-0
And Sweden bt. Poland 2-1
Then Luxembourg go through, because they are the only one with 6 matches won.

C)
Luxembourg bt. Netherlands 2-1
And Sweden bt. Poland 3-0
Then either Sweden or Netherlands go through

Sweden can only go through if... Netherlands wins 1 3-setter and loses 2 2-setters, and Sweden doesn't lose a set, and then the total games won should decide.
Netherlands worst case 2-5 --> 13-8 in sets
Sweden best case 6-0 --> 13-8 in sets --> have to calculate with games.
Calculating games.......
Games won/lost Netherlands:
37-16
42-34
Total: 79-50
Games won/lost Sweden:
34-42
41-29
Total: 75-71
So yes all is possible there.... either team could have the most games won. But as you can see only a very very slim chance for Sweden to still go through.

D)
Luxembourg bt. Netherlands 2-1
And Sweden bt. Poland 2-1
Then Netherlands go through, they are the only one with 6 matches won.

  I am gonna take a break now.

Well, I'd say it's about time for a break-through for Krajicek, why not against Maleeva? She has the potential, it's only a matter of time before she starts winning matches against players like Maleeva.
I'm not saying she will win, but she might.

Latest Results: Europe/Africa Zone Group I

Venue: Club Ali Bey Manavgat, Antalya, Turkey. Dates: 20-23 April Surface: Red Clay, Outdoor

The sixteen competing nations have been drawn into four pools of four teams. Pool winners play against each other for two places in the World Group II Play-Offs in July. Teams finishing 4th in their pool will play off to decide which two teams are relegated to Europe/Africa Zone Group II in 2006. Play begins at 0700 GMT every day. Results will be available here on a daily basis.

Pool A: Bulgaria, Hungary, South Africa, Estonia
Pool B: Luxembourg, Netherlands, Sweden, Poland
Pool C: Slovenia, Serbia & Montenegro, Great Britain, Denmark
Pool D: Israel, Ukraine, Belarus, Greece.

Thursday 21 April
Bulgaria, Slovenia and Belarus booked their places in Saturday’s play-offs, which determine which two teams advance to the World Group II Play-offs in July, after winning their second ties of the week. The remaining place could go to Sweden, the Netherlands or Luxembourg depending on the outcome of Friday’s ties.

Top seeds Bulgaria, whose singles players are both ranked inside the top 100, was the only team to secure victory after the singles rubbers today as Sesil Karatantcheva and Magdalena Maleeva dismissed their Hungarian opponents, Agnes Szavay and Zsofia Gubacsi respectively.

Slovenia appeared to be cruising to victory after No.2 Tina Pisnik crushed her Serbian & Montenegran counterpart, Ana Timotic, 60 61 and Katarina Srebotnik took the first set 6-1 against Jelena Jankovic. However, Jankovic then showed why she has been ranked inside the top 20 this year, clawing her way back into the match and hanging on for a 16 64 86 victory in just over two hours 30 minutes to level the tie. The experienced duo of Srebotnik and Tina Krizan were quick off the mark again for Slovenia in the deciding doubles and despite a rally from Jankovic and Dragana Zaric, they held strong for a 60 76(6) triumph.

Viktoria Azarenka again played a big part in Belarus’ success against the Ukraine, winning both rubbers in which she played. She thrashed her former ITF Development teammate, Katarina Bondarenko, 62 61 in the opening singles and renewed her successful partnership with Tatiana Poutchek in the deciding doubles, which Belarus took 63 60.

In Pool B, Sweden came very close to securing top spot in the pool when Johanna Larsson finally got the better of Dutch veteran Brenda Schultz-McCarthy 75 36 63 to put Sweden ahead. ITF Junior World Champion, Michaella Krajicek levelled the tie with a quick victory over Hanna Nooni and then successfully teamed up with Schultz-McCarthy in a tight doubles match against Nooni and Sofia Arvidsson in which the Dutch team finally prevailed 46 64 64. This represents Schultz-Mc Carthy’s first professional tennis activity for just under six years! Meanwhile, Luxembourg got their campaign back on track after its opening day defeat to Sweden with a 2-1 victory over Poland, although Claudine Schaul had to battle for over two hours to subdue Poland’s Karolina Kosinska to clinch victory

Hanna...... Sofia/Hanna......

at least Larsson having some experience for next year and not have to depend on Sofia/Hanna's "doubles" habilities...

Well, I'd say it's about time for a break-through for Krajicek, why not against Maleeva? She has the potential, it's only a matter of time before she starts winning matches against players like Maleeva.
I'm not saying she will win, but she might.

Someone else underestimating Maggie...... Fans are used to it.... Even Sophie Ferguson fans said she should beat Maggie because Maggie is not good... Everybody underestimates her.. But oh well, she can live with that! :)
