Jen had a very good idea during her first outburst :p

She said something along the lines of "why don't you have a little camera so you can see that line call"

Video refs? Other sports have them, why not tennis??

It would cut down on crappy calls and would make the game fairer.

Downside, it would take up time. But if the commentators have the luxury of replays and slo-mos why shouldn't the umpire?

I think Jen would come to hate them if they did have it as she'd see 99% of her outbursts would be uncalled for, and she is a v fast paced player, the camera shots would only slow the game down.

Umpires are only meant to over rule when there is a clear mistake, and IMO clear means that u can blatently see it. Some of the camera views we get on replays are crap anyway, the commentators argue half the time whether it was in or out, or just go "ooooooh how close" cos the big blur on the screen tells them sweet FA.

I liked the thing they had in some of the German tournaments at the end of the year where they did like a comp simulation thing and the ball bounce left a blue mark.... that did settle some arguments but Simon "senile old man" Reed bitched about it saying it was someone's impression of the call.
