BTW she is not in Miami's entry list so she will probably play IW and then Amelia Island...

Hmmm ...

I think that the best 8 are :

Davenport
Mauresmo
Sharapova
Kuznetsova
Mary
Clijsters
Dementieva
and who ?
perhaps Capriati if she's fit, Zvonareva if she stops her tears, or Golovin or Safina ...

But this draw is quite weak for such a tournament !

Williams sisters (of course), Myskina (ok, myskina is able to lose to martinez but if she plays her tennis), Molik, Henin won't compete !

So i think Mary can have a good run ! All depends on her draw ... she will have to meet a top seed very soon (3rd round i think) ... i hope it won't be Lindsay or Sharapova or Mauresmo ... i would prefer Zvonareva or Petrova or Capriati :tape:

Ya, You're right. Williams sisters haven't played there since the argument few years ago.
Good decision that Mary plays there. What about Miami?

Probably Mary doesn't play Miami coz she doesn't want to play 4 events in a row. Ok, I understand. So she should miss Amelia Island and plays Miami:)!

I've been thinking a lot about this...

I think it was always a big mistake in Mary's career not to play these two Super Tier I. Even when she was at the top she didn't play there that often...
And now... It's not like if she's going to make the finals of IW, Miami, Amelia Island and Charleston and be too tired for playing four tournaments in a row... So, why not play all of them? As far as I know, Miami, Amelia Island and Charleston are not that far away from each other, so travels won't be that tough. Mary needs points, we all know that, and unfortunately she's not the same player that could arrive at a tournamente and sweep by the draw. She has to play, and play, and play, and gain points, even if it means only 3rd round or something like that in all tournaments. Only that way she can get endurance to go further deep in tournaments and points to get better draws. Time is not in Mary's side and I guess she should be wiser concerning her schedule...

Your thoughts?

I'm always angry when some big events start and Mary is not on a list. I don't know who tells her not to play here and there but sometimes she makes so stupid decisions!!!! I believe in Mary and her abillities but...Does she really think that she will be so tired? Does she expect that she will make finals in Indian Wells and Miami and she will be too tired to play Amelia Island and Charleston? It's ridiculous! I wish her all the best but I don't think she can reach finals in the events. Ok, she doesn't want to play 4 in a row, so why not Miami instead of Amelia Island?!!!! If Mary will be good enough and reach 4th round/or QF in Indain Wells AND Miami, then she should take a week off and then go to Charleston. She is now not a player like years ago and she can't afford herself to miss that kind of tournaments. What if she will lose in 1st/2nd round(like last year!!!!) in Amelia Island and Charleston?!!!! There will be again no points for Mary to rankings. She still will be around 30th in the world and will have to face players like Momo, Davenport, Williams in Berlin/Rome and might be out in early rounds again like in Paris and Antwerp. Mary should play as many events as she is able to to jump in rankings, be in top 15 again and be seeded in big tournaments. That's my opinion. Sometimes I have an impression that Mary is too ambitious and too self-assured coz she thinks she can beat everyone, even if she is not seeded and win the biggest tournaments. Unfortunately Momo proved her that it's not so easy.

I'm not sure that Mary is really able to play weeks after weeks and tournaments after tournaments...I think that today more than before she needs to have a real motivation to play a tournament...she is not that fit unfortunatly and she is now single maybe life is not that simple for our Mary....

I do think as you do that she is not playing enough tournament but i also think that she could have explanations to this strange schedule....

Hope she will have good results and be happy agin!!!!!!!!!!:worship: :hearts:

That is one thing that Mary is a little quite on. I mean explaning why not playing. Some times it is so hard to find news on the best player in tennis.

Esepcially when us Mary fans are so loyal nad always love news on Mary.

But I am just happy that Mary is playing, lets hope for a better draw and mary doing long ways in the tournament.

Nicolas, you are right I do so hope that Mary will be happy again. I hate it when she is not.

Mary was sad in Antwerp, but she was very happy in paris so you know, we don't know nothing about her mood and why she's or not in good mood !

I just hope she will play the tennis she wants to play in Indian Wells and have a good run of course !

kuznetsova is not really in shape ... this is a good new because don't forget that mary will play a top 8 in the third ... if she wins her first match, of course !!! I can't forget her terrific and easy draw in Aussie Open, and her match ...

Go Mary, play only if you enjoy it

it would be great !
A lot of bad players can be kick by Mary !
Dechy is playing the worst tennis i have ever seen, it would be a good match for Mary (even if this year, she only lost against French women  )

Hope Mary won't play Ivanovic or Clijsters or Mirza in her first match because she needs an easy first win i think ! :lick:

Nooooooo!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Really! Everything depends of drawing. Mary can play a player seeded 1-16 in a 3rd round. Tha't sure! 100%. Look for example at the draw of last Australian Open and compare.

No Andrew18 is right.Players seeded 9-16 play players seeded 17-24 in 3rd round and players seeded 1-8 play in 3rd round players seeded 25-32.You can check the draw of the last Indian Wells and of the last Australian Open.

Hey, i didn't know that Mary would be 22yh ! I was sure she would be 26 or something like that ! But this is A REALLY REALLY good new because all 8/16 are MORE thant beatable, they are "kickable".

Now, all depends on Mary ! If she wants to, sure she will have a good run ! But if she doesn't play her tennis, if she doubts or something else, she won't win a match
