I'm sorry, but I don't care if she's injured or not, she's a loser. She always wins many titles every year, but as soon as she comes to a grandslam she loses. She either chokes or can't finish off the opponent or get trashed or play defensive crap or WHATEVER!

She will never be a champion. Champions manage to play their best in grandslams, yet she always finds a way to screw things up and lose. Also champions manage to get important wins even if they are not feel 100%. I feel sorry for Amelie fans because they always have to go through loss after loss. She's the fucking no.1/no.2 player in the world, yet she plays so defensive and can't really manage to play one big match at a grandslam. Whenever she faces an important match in the quarters or semis, she can't raise her level and LOSES. I feel sorry for her. :o

Serena is leading 6-2, 5-1. And again, I don't care if she's injured or not. She was fine the whole tournament. It's always the same no matter what the situation is, she always manages to lose somehow.

she's not a loser, but it is hard to watch her play like this. she is so talented and could win majors if she could just get it together, whatever it is that is holding you back, get over it! now!

She hasn't been fine during the tournament at all. She's been brave about an injury that has obviously been niggling at her in all her matches. Damn, though, I was hoping my prediction that she wouldn't be up to this match would turn out wrong. Damn!

Not that I'm an Amelie fan. But she was definitely hampered physically and mentally out there. The last Amelie/Serena match was a doozey. I know for a fact Momo was only playing about 60% out there. Serena didn't really have to do anything.

Amelie was injured you big turkey. If you can't understand that, then we don't want your "sympathies"...
Amelie couldn't "raise" her level, she was simply suffering the whole game.
If it wasn't for that fucking recurring leg injury, i don't see why she wouldn't have a slam.
I don't know what to say, it is evident that she would be a grand slam champion if it wasn't for her bad luck. I mean how unfair can the world be?? She has lost her dad, lost her family, she is always freaking injured at the worst times, she has been teased, insulted, she has been prejudiced against.... i mean... wow.... life is really not fair.
it just pisses me off. I would give anything for her to be able to win a slam someday. Anything. I can't even begin to comprehend how she must feel now. All of this shit is not her fault. It's not her fault.
it just makes me sad.

i dont think that tonight, fear was the factor. What Amelie needs is a long rest to get over her recurring leg problem. Maybe even surgery... i mean it has been bothering her forever, and that's the major thing that keeps her from reaching her full potential. But i do agree that she probably still need to work on her mental a bit.

There's no such word.

There's no such word.
actually there is....:tape: It's a 20th century word but it's part of the dictionary just like any other. It's especially used in casual speech which I would think posts on a message board would be considered as casual speech. ;)

There's no such word. Yay! Let's have english lessons now :)

Irregardless is a word that many mistakenly believe to be correct usage in formal style, when in fact it is used chiefly in nonstandard speech or casual writing. Coined in the United States in the early 20th century, it has met with a blizzard of condemnation for being an improper yoking of irrespective and regardless and for the logical absurdity of combining the negative ir– prefix and –less suffix in a single term. Although one might reasonably argue that it is no different from words with redundant affixes like debone and unravel, it has been considered a blunder for decades and will probably continue to be so

Amelie will win a slam one day - I am sure of it.

Give her a break - she has been to #1, won a host of Tier I events, played Fed Cup for her country, can anyone on the board say that??

Amelie is no loser and should be proud of all her tennis acheivements.

Irregardless is in the dictionary because dictionaries don't define words, they just record usage. They put it in because people (ie Americans) insist on using it, even though it's obviously wrong. :)

Anyway, look Serena plays her best against Momo for some reason, I'm going to start a thread about this because I'm confused too. She just doesn't want to lose to Momo. It's like a personal vendetta.

Amelie Mauresmo is a LOSER.

IT'S THE TRUTH.

Amelie has edged out Samantha Stosur (who stands in Sydney final ;) ), Dinara Safina (who beat Ai sugiyama early in the year ;) ) and Ana Ivanovic (who won Canberra ;) ).

She was the first French number 1 in the history and has won 15 titles in her career among them 5 Tier 1s. :D

She beat Vera Zvonareva 6:0 6:1, Svetlana Kuznetsova 6:3 6:4 and Maria Sharapova 7:5 6:4 at the World Championships without loosing a set. :D

She was injured at the beginning of the year and didn't know if she could play the Australian Open. But she could play and she reached the quarterfinals where she lost against a certain Serena Williams against whom she has a 1:10 negativ record. She can't win against Serena obviously but has good head to heads against other Top players. :D

2-0 v. Sharapova
7-4 v. Capriati
6-1 v. Myskina
6-4 v. Dementieva
4-0 v. Kuznetsova
3-3 v. Henin-Hardenne
6-0 v. Zvonareva

So please don't call her a loser! :fiery:
