There is plenty of stuff we can find from
1.Elena D.
2.Williams
3.Myskina
4.Davenport
5. etc. etc.
Where are all the arogant "full of yourself" quotes?

yes. after alicia beat her last year, she said "i wasnt playing at my best" or something like that though the match was tight. that's discrediting alicia.

She said "I give myself a 3 out of 10" when she lost to Dementieva in the Exhibition event leading up to the AO. Shades of Serena :)...all champs have arrogance, bottom line.

Q. What did Serena show you out there today on court?
MARIA SHARAPOVA: What did she show me? Nothing.

That made me laugh when I read it.

But honestly: what kind of a stupid question is that? Really, what should Maria have answered?

Serena showed me that she is better than me.

Serena is just a class act and I'm not.

She showed me her belly button piercing.

So this is really not arrogant, and I'm not even rooting for her.

Let's give all the girls a break. Few things that they say are really all that bad in context. Even Serena just has an extroverted, hyperbole-filled way of saying things. She's nutty, but usually in a nice way. :)

You guys spend a lot of time making mountains out of molehills.

Don't tell me you just realized that. The tennis world has known that since Wimbledon. Read the newspaper once in a while!!

Not even close to the arrogance of some "fans" :D

Who hasn't? (Don't reply to this with names of players that haven't)

I don't have a problem with Sharapova's interviews or press conferences. She always comes off as neutral or respectful.

I wish however, she would credit her opponents and be respectful when she is on court face to face. She is usually very cold at the net. Whether she wins or looses she comes off a bit arrogant at the net, never congratulates her opponent.

A good player (Williams, Sharapova...) cannot admit to having anyone be better, otherwise they are mentally ruined. A great player (Federer) knows the truth and is willing to be humble in defeat.

Yeah so big deal. In the rest of the interview that you did not bother to mention she pretty much conceded she got beat.
