She can't be serving that bad. She won that game. She's not going all out power, but no sign of injury for Serena.

Serena will be fine. She's probably a little nervous / excited.

Amelie can't move... this could be quick.

Be more nervous for Momo. She just got broken.

At this point I can't say either play from each player is indactive of how the match will go.

I'm laughing at Serena's big booty as it went side to side :) She always reminds me to get into shape.

I think Serena is trying to conserve some energy because of the heat.

And there goes that nice and easy ace :bounce:

She looks extra determined probably because her sister got her ass kicked.

Serena is showing part of why I love her and what I wish Venus would take from her into her own game. It's not over by any means, but I wish I had seen some of what I see in Serena in Venus yesterday in Molik.

yes, she is serving harder now

Are you watching this on tv? It's awful!!!!!!!
Amelie can't keep a ball in court, and she's just looking really
anxious and very tight. I thought the choking was suppose to
happen when your winning in and almost to match point, not
in the first set!!!!! :tape:

This is the worst I've seen from AM in a long time. There's nothing
going on with her today. Loose, shot after loose shot, with nothing
rallies that have no purpose.

As bad as Myskina yesterday...help!

I am sincerely hoping for a Sharapova vs S. Williams semifinals. Go, Serena, WIN!

As bad as Myskina yesterday...help!NOTHING is that bad! I nearly barfed at the ugliness of that match.

She just won the first set, so it must not be that bad <g>

Lol all you had to do is get Myskina's serving yesterday and combine it with Venus' UE and even a very lowly ranked qualifer would have been able to beat them :)

Tennis in Canada is pre-empted by...Wrestling! :fiery:

I guess it's all good that I guess to miss Amé playing like kitty poo poo  Does she look intimidated like RG '03 or is this all the injury? :(

Aside from Amelie, Serena seemed to come into the match with a different mindset and way about her.

Yeah, Serena looks cool, and Amélie looks in love.

Amélie is the one serving terribly, how many double faults so far? Serena will have no trouble, I guess. Unfortunely, she just can't get over her nerves.

Serena's got her "mean" face on now; but Amelie seemed to have
calmed down a bit more. The heat's up to about 36C now, and they're
both talking a longer time between games. Nice rallies from Amelie
now, not the jerky, timed ones.

Perhaps a comeback in set #2?

Am's returns have no punch, and are weak replies and hitting
the net. No conviction today, no heart and no fire.

What is it? Like 1 winner and 21 UE's right now? :tape:

alexusjonesfan
Jan 25th, 2005, 02:53 AM
well I guess I know which match I won't be watching at tomorrow's replay

what's that? two breaks up in the 2nd now?

peanuts
Jan 25th, 2005, 03:01 AM
i thinks amelie's play is affected by the heat. she's having a hard time coping with it. the commentators said the temperatures are at 35degrees. serena is obviously having a better time adjusting to the conditions.

i stopped watching the match. it was so one-sided. amelie is simply going through the motions.
