Some people actually spell Wittaya Khachonwongwattama instead of
Wittaya Khachonwongwattana.

I mean, come on - how difficult is it to spell Wittaya Khachonwongwattana?

The British journalists had a field day when Karolina beat Venus at Wimbledon because they wanted to use HILARIOUSLY clever headlines such as "venus suffers from low sprem count" (didn't get printed) and "she's one spelling mistake away from the best name in tennis" - Personally I think Smashnova STILL holds that one!!

Anne Keothavong: Anna Krothavong. Clearly some people can't use a keyboard.

I loved how a commentator couldn't pronounce Daniilidou's name and wrote it as Diddly-Doo

It took me awhile to get Likhovtseva, I actually pronounce it with the v so I remember how to spell it.

Took me awhile for Krasnoroutskaya as well. That's prolly one of the tougher ones. People have also struggled with Zvonareva, and DaniIlidou.

I still struggle with Karantancheva(that's what I thought it was before checking), Karatancheva is right...

Actually, there's debate about Karatantcheva/Karatancheva. AT the AO on the scoreboards it was KaratanTcheva.

Why don't we just call them by their first name? So much easier. Sesil, Lina, Nicole..... :)

to quote-

I play exactly like Elena Demented. We both have an amazing forehand and solid backhand yet crappy serve. Just like Demented, there's little difference between my 1st n 2nd deliveries. I serve loads of double faults. Maybe I do better at the ned than Elena but we both could be excellent doubles players.

We have a website where they stick to the spelling of some russian names, just the way we pronounce them. Sjarapova, Koeznetsova, Dementjeva..
Pretty ridiculous.
