Jan 22nd, 2005, 09:04 PM
Shawshank, Shindler's List, Casablanca.

Out of this.. Shindler's List is too heavy to watch it more than once per few years.

Other two are simply too different to even compare.

None. But if I had to pick one, then Schindlers List. ;)

Jan 23rd, 2005, 09:48 AM
I said Schindler's List. But where's the Great Escape?

Jan 23rd, 2005, 10:24 AM
I like all the lord of the rings films a lot, but I had to choose, so The return of the king, that's just the best movie ever :bounce:

Jan 23rd, 2005, 10:41 AM
typical that no one voted for seven samurai.

where is rand when you need him?

Jan 23rd, 2005, 11:45 AM
From the list, Star Wars.

Where is Empire Strikes Back?

Why are all 3 of the woefully overrated LotR films on the list?

Jan 23rd, 2005, 02:31 PM
The Shawshank Redemption. Loved The Godfather as well. But Tim Robbins is my kinda man! :hearts:

Jan 23rd, 2005, 02:54 PM
I refuse to vote - there are simply too many good choices and I will not play favorites. So there. That'll show you and your little poll.

Jan 23rd, 2005, 03:24 PM
I voted for Casablance cause it's classic. ;) I saw 8 movies from the list except Schindler's List and the samurai movie. I like most of the movies.

Maybe I should watch the film, 'Schindler's List' if it's have so good reputation. When it was released, I thought it should be another 'Nazi and Auschwitz' movie I've seen soooo many times with different titles. :o Anyway, at that time, I should watch that kind of movie all the time from TV almost every weeked. ;)

Yes, Scarface was impressive, too.

Where's On Her Majesty's Secret Service??

Seven Samurai only two votes

Mercury Rising
Jan 27th, 2005, 04:54 PM
The only film of these I haven't seen is Cassablanca. I voted for ROTK, but I see the trilogy as one movie actually. The Shawhank Redemption and the Godfather movies are great as is Schindlers list. Seven samurai was ok, but too long, and not at all great to me, it's something for the real film enthousiasts who see it as an important piece in movie history.

Jan 27th, 2005, 05:55 PM
The Shawshank Redemption. No doubt... Amazing movie.

Jan 27th, 2005, 06:51 PM
From that list... The Shawshank Redemption. I lost my DVD of it though... It'd probably be my favourite from any list of movies though. Excellent film.

The Shawshank Redemption

The Lord of the Rings would've beat it but not as individual movies. Schindler's List is a great movie, but it's just too harsh...I can't call it my favorite movie. My truly favorite movie is actually Braveheart. It makes me cry every single time I watch it. Mel Gibson was truly amazing in that movie.

Jan 27th, 2005, 09:42 PM
Schindlers list: Its so beautifuly done. Its most effective use of black and white and when it uses the little girl in the red dress and you see the little red shoe against black and white background.

The Shawshank redemption: Another brilliantly done film without being too soppy or too actiony. A movies where it seems the little things help make it work.

The godfather: Absolute classic.

Jan 27th, 2005, 11:52 PM
I love the LOTR trilogy...I voted Return of the King.

Andy Mac
