I was excited to see Stéphanie Dubois making the Qualifying Draw for the Australian Open. It'd be a nice story if she actually made the Main Draw. You never know!

Good luck at the Aussie open Steph. I really think that she is capable of winning a few matches at least.

Well, Stéphanie lost her opening Qualifying round match to Michaella Krajicek 6-4, 6-3. Still, at least she made it into the Qualifying draw. I'm hoping she has a strong year.

Steph fought hard, and she stayed with Misa for most of the match really. Had a couple chances to hang in longer, but was not quite able to take them.

Still, a positive experience for Steph, and I am sure she'll be playing many more Australian Opens :)

the wta site says that she is only ranked 213, and she is 0-1 it does not even say that she won that tournament.

The wta site made a mistake with Steph's ranking. It says she's 213... :rolleyes: and she should be inside the top 200.

In her activity, it says she won only two matches in Rockford and they only gave her 5 points.

According to TheBoiledEgg's rankings in the Challenger forum she should be ranked 185 in the world with 176.5 points! :D

As TheBoiledEgg said, points from 25k and 10k are put on the rankings only 1 week after the end of the tourney, so next week, Midland+Rockford points will be on the ranks!

Stéphanie is in the main draw at the $75,000 Midland, MI . Her 1 round opponent is Anne Smith of the USA. I think Anne is making a comeback this year, because it was her first match last week at the 50, 000$ when she lost 1 round, since the US open in 1991. So Steph should be able to pull it out

Shes in the QF after her 2 wins, her first one vs Anne Smith 6-4 6-1, and against Sedra Noolander 6-0 4-6 6-3. SHe next faces Laura Granville, so that should be a really good test for Dubois

She is in the qualifying rounds at Regions Morgan Keegan Championships & the Cellular South Cup.

Sadly, she had to withdraw from Memphis Qualies cause of scheduling!

That's too bad that she had to withdraw from Memphis. She would have played Yoshida.

It says the reason she withdrew was because of a sprained ankle in the pdf file for the Memphis Draw. :confused:

Does anyone know how the match went in Midland against Granville? She won the first set 6-1 but then what happened? Tired from playing a lot? I know the match before against Noorlander was a 3 setter. I would suggest maybe that you know, just the better player won but I think Steph is the better player!
