Kirsten Flipkens has serious problems with her back.

She's now going to a famous back-specialist in Karlsruhe, but if he doesn't find a solution, Flipkens' carreer that didn't even started yet will be ended...

That's so sad to hear...

Clijsters : problems with her wrist
Henin : problems with a virus

She wasn't in top 100 or 50 but she was Wimbledon junior champion and was junior n. 1 for two years and that's not similar as to play tennis with friends somewhere behind your house.... :(

Flipper has potential (just look at her results) and to hear about her problems is very sad.

Nope, she didn't...

Last year she reached a top position of 145 (13/9/2004)

In 2004
she won $10.000 in Napels
she defeated Medina-Garrigues (WTA-54) in Fed Cup
she won $50.000 in Innsbruck (as a qualifier)
she defeated Camerin (WTA-67) and Loit (WTA-38) in Forest Hills

the final...
She won the junior title at the US Open too, beating Krajicek in the
final...
She ended 2003 at number one and was world champion...

Kirsten was not in the top 100 but was heading in that direction. I hope she can solve her back problem coz she's an exciting player to watch.

Shame if Kirsten does have to call it quits - she was one that I certainly tipped for the future and she almost came close to winning a Fed Cup match (against Shaughnessy).

It looks like the fate of Belgium tennis rests in the hands of Els Callens - who will probably retire at the end of the 2005 season. Here is to Kim and Justine coming back very soon to the tour.

Kirsten's carreer is not in dagner ;);););););););)

It was just a gossip of a Belgian journalist...

Her father told they just went on consultation to Karlsruhe...

Kirsten has to wait till the pain in her back will disappear...
Her father said also that they can't put a date on a possible return of Kirsten...

So, she's still injured, but it's not that serious as we Belgian could
read on teletext this morning...

Get well soon Kirsten!

Glad to hear that Kirsten won't be retiring, such an entertaining player to watch, and i hope she can return sometime this season.

About time Els was given the centre of attention, but she should really be playing a bit more like i know she can.
