Yes she was. Better luck for the Australian Open - it just shows that Na Li is going to create devestation in the draw next week.

While Na Li might not create "devistation" in the Australian Open draw, her game has been progressing nicely over the past year. She is definitely one of the up and coming Asian (Chinese) players who will undoubtedly make her climb upward in the rankings.

Nice job, Na!

Dellacqua scores major upset

Day One (Night Session) - Domain Tennis Centre, Hobart

http://www.tennistasmania.com.au/pages/image.aspx?assetid=RDM38362.875689919Above - Western Australian, Casey Dell'Acqua moved into the second round of the Moorilla International in Hobart
Hobart, January 10 Aussie wildcard Casey Dellacqua has pulled off the biggest upset of the Moorilla International so far with a straight sets triumph over top 60 player Alina Jidkova.

Dellacqua broke her opponent three times in the first set before continuing her form throughout the second to record a 7-5 6-4 victory in 1hr 14mins.

The Australian was thrilled to win her first ever main draw match on the Sony Ericsson WTA Tour.

Its extremely exciting for me, shes the highest ranked player Ive ever beaten, she said of the win over the world No.55.

I just went out there and believed in myself and knew that I could do it and had inspiration from the other Australian girls.

I didnt feel any pressure. I felt inspiration due to Alicia Molik doing so well and I watched Sam up on the Gold Coast and watching her play has always given me goosebumps because Im so proud of her.

Dellacqua said her win was largely due to a big summer of training.

Ive had really good preparation. I did the Australian Open Training Camp in December and had some time at home for Christmas and then played a good qualifying match on the Gold Coast last week. And Ive been training really hard and it all came together tonight, which is really exciting.

I thought I served particularly well, so I was really happy with that because Ive put a lot of time and effort into that.

Asked if she thought she could win Dellacqua responded: Absolutely. Im not going to go out there and believe that I cant win.

In a night of upsets top seed and defending champion Amy Frazier was also defeated in straight sets.

The world No.26 went down to Li Na of China 7-5 7-5 in 1hr 33mins. Na, who held match points against US Open champion Svetlana Kuznetsova in a match last year, said she was thrilled with the win.

"I feel very excited to get this win," Na said through her coach, Jiang Hong Wei, who acted as her translator. "I went out and tried as hard as possible.

"I went out with a simple strategy because she is a very good player. I never give up. I just wanted to concentrate."

Na will face Dellacqua in the second round tomorrow afternoon.

The Moorilla International main draw runs from Sunday 9 - Saturday 14 January at Domain Tennis Centre.

This kind of win shows exactly where Na belongs in the rankings. Amy never has really good days or really bad days. She plays the same solid level of tennis almost every single match. So for Na to pull this off is quite an achievement.

Hopefully Amy can regroup from her unlucky draw and pull out a 4th round showing at the AO, something she hasn't done since 1992:eek: . She's playing well enough lately to do it now IMO.

That's her 2nd career win in singles, which is more than most players even do. And she is a top hundred player, so it isn't THAT bad a loss by Amy Frazier.

I'm unsure as to what you mean by 2nd career win in singles?

2nd win of the year yes, but she had an incredible singles record last year, with ITFs. If you mean only WTA , she won a title last year also . :)
