If all the withdrawals are as listed, and they use the rankings as of Monday to determine seeds. Here are the rankings at the edge of being seeded, as of the Jan 03, 2005. Right now, Clijsters, Henin-Hardenne and Suarez are out. Which means ranking positions #33, #4 and #35 should be seeded.
Asagoe added 56 points this week. That should move her to 869 points, and the #35 ranking.

Of course, I could just be wrong.:) Eleni won´t be seeded. She had 156 point to defend. Shinobu got plenty more than 56 points this week. About 25 quality points too. So yes, she is seeded.

Capriati, Davenport and both Williams are nursing injuries, but none of them have pulled out of OZ yet. I hope Sharpova is ready to carry the tour for a while, from a PR perspective.

Yes, It's great that Shinobu is finally seeded. :rolleyes: It seems as of late that she really picks it up in the Slams, which is the reason for her 7-4 record last year...she's taken out Myskina, Schnyder x 2, Dulko, Hantuchova x 2 :eek: (Oh the nightmares!), Schiavone, Maleeva, Smashnova, Suarez, Eleni...

I hope it's another stellar slam year for Shinobu who has a lot to defend...but I know she can do it!

Will Shinobu be seeded though as she will lose the Hobart points from last year where she got to the final?
