BRISBANE, Dec 30 AAP - NSW youngster Daniella Dominikovic has been awarded a last minute wildcard into the qualifying draw of the Uncle Tobys Women's Hardcourt Championships on the Gold Coast which starts tomorrow.

The younger sister of Australia's fourth highest ranked women's player Evie Dominikovic, 17-year-old Daniella is currently ranked 435th in the world.
On the Uncle Tobys Tour this year, the younger Dominikovic reached the semifinals of the Canberra challenger, the quarterfinals of challengers in Mackay and Port Pirie, and achieved success in doubles partnering her older sister.

The opening in qualifying came after world No.40 Meghann Shaughnessy pulled out of the main event, which starts on Sunday at the Royal Pines Resort, when she replaced an injured Lindsay Davenport in the Hopman Cup.
World No.82 Frenchwoman Stephanie Foretz moved from qualifying into the main draw for the Hardcourts leaving the final direct acceptance spot in qualifying open to the next highest ranked player - eighteen-year-old Sophie Ferguson.

Dominikovic replaced Ferguson on the qualifying wildcard list.
Australians in the 32-woman main draw are Nicole Pratt, Samantha Stosur and wildcards TJ Welford and Jaslyn Hewitt.
