just looked on her bio at wtatour.com and she's been ranked since 1994 so she's had had quite a long career

that's too bad but i understand her decision. i met patricia several years ago at a challenger event in delray beach and she was so nice to all the fans. she will be missed.

She must be one of the only players to end their career with a double bagel loss in her last singles match..
At least, she wd have retired by playing for her country in Fed Cup.

Biggest win of her career: beating Alex Stevenson at '00 Wimby when Alex was a defending semifinalist.
Didn't she make it to the QF that year!??! Oh no Serna beat her.
