View Full Version : Three things I would change about Vera's game for '05.

1. Her mental approach. It's usually truly painful to watch, and she plays world class when she's focussed.

2. Her movement. Compared to Serena, Momo, Justine, she's poor. Maybe she should slap on some D'n'B and boogie on down. :banana:

3. See step 1.

Bepa's movement is fine. She's one of the best defensive players on tour.

Yes, but I'm talking about all court movement. She doesn't seem to have the zip that Serena has, for instance. Side to side she's fine though.

Vera has amazing lateral retrieval-skills, and good shot-power with it.

I would like to see Vera:
1. play more spreading rallies;
2. hit more winners;
than she has done the three times I've seen her play. These proposed changes are what would make the difference from me being a casual Vera-supporter to being a committed fan.

The only thing I'd change is for her to be more mentally stable and to have better tactics in some matches.

i agree woth andrew.
she plays really well - but she should be playing deeper to the lines, and wait for chances.
her game against capriati at the very end of 2004 could have beaten any top 10er i think.

The only problem Vera has is with her Mental attitude, shes far too critical of herself and it causes her to lose matches!! She has to learn to chill out more!!
