She beat :

R2 - Farina Elia 6-2 3-6 6-3
QF - Oremans 7-5 6-7 6-4
SF - Studenikova 6-1 3-6 6-0
F - Paulus 6-4 3-6 7-5

Hingis won Philadelphia the same way in '97 :
She beat :

R2 - Appelmans 6-2 4-6 6-2
QF - Huber 7-6 5-7 6-4
SF - Sanchez Vicario 1-6 7-6 6-3
F - Davenport 7-5 6-7 7-6
