Catwoman has got a new archenemy: James Belushi.

The beefy sitcom star has sued actress Julie Newmar--the complaint accuses TV's original Catwoman of being an extremely finicky neighbor.

The lawsuit was filed last Tuesday in Los Angeles. It accuses Newmar of leading a "campaign of harassment" against Belushi.

Newmar could not be located for comment Monday. Belushi's publicist was mum on the matter.

Belushi, 50, and Newmar, 71, both live in the pricey Los Angeles enclave of Brentwood. According to the suit, Belushi says Newmar has blared loud music, bad-mouthed him to neighbors (calling him a "sick...peeping Tom") and clawed away at his home's fence and landscaping.

"Newmar has engaged in a malicious and premeditated campaign to prevent and destroy Belushi's quiet peace," the lawsuit said.

The lawsuit seeks monetary damages, plus assorted fees and an injunction--presumably to bar Newmar from launching hairballs and the like in Belushi's direction.

It was not known what sparked Belushi and Newmar's apparent feud. Belushi claims Newmar's motive is to get him to move away.

On Batman, the 1960s prime-time take on the Caped Crusader, Newmar rankled the title hero for stealing jewels and siccing tigers on him. She also, however, bewitched the cowled one with her purr and skintight body suit.

On the ABC sitcom According to Jim, Belushi plays a family man who rankles TV wife Courtney Thorne-Smith with his manly habits. He also, however, bewitches his spouse with his playful wit and skintight body suit, sorry, flannel shirts.

Newmar, a former dancer, played Catwoman on Batman from 1966-67 en route to becoming a cult figure worthy of her own movie title: To Wong Foo, Thanks for Everything, Julie Newmar.

Belushi, a former Jim, has starred on According to Jim since 2001 en route to suing Newmar.

In other celebrity grudge matches, Playboy model Nicole Lenz was due in a Los Angeles court Monday for a hearing on a restraining-order request against party enthusiast Bijou Phillips.

Lenz has sued Phillips and heiress Casey Johnson, two former friends, for $1 million for a nightclub incident that allegedly invoked the words "whore" and "prostitute" and provoked hair-dragging and fisticuffs.

It sounds like another case for Batman. Or Belushi.

Sal, I think Jim bought like two lots next to Catwoman, demolished both homes and built the Taj Mahal. His air conditioners abut Catwoman's much smaller and modest home and they sound like 767s taking off all day long because they are cooling the Taj Mahal. Catwoman doesn't like living on the runway of LAX and it's gone downhill from there.
