I have a Linksys router hooked up to my PC for a wireless network for my laptop, which I use with a wireless card. Well anyway, Im getting a new Apple Powerbook, and I was wondering if I could get a wireless connection from my Linksys router even though it is hooked up to a PC and is designed for PCs (I think)? If not, what would I have to do?

Thanks in advance :wavey:

here's a link to a computer forum, it'd be better to ask there

you should not have a problem, routers are not designed for an specific OS, they use an specific protocol, normally 802.11b/g so if your imac's card supports those protocol you should be fine.

Exactly and most wireless routers have hard wire ports too in case you need to connect directly. You can also go to this site:

http://www.help2go.com and lurk to see if anyone else there has a similar issue or register and ask for yourself. Good luck.

thanks Justineeum, Fingon, and jean genie! i looked at my router and 802.11g and the powerbook G4 comes with a built-in AirPort 802.11g card as well. so i am assuming it will work?
