Those for Kerry:
Women
Minority groups (Blacks, Hispanics, etc.)
Independents
Moderates
Young people
Baby Boomers (Those born between about 1945 and 1970).
90% who voted for Al Gore in 200

Those for Bush:
Whites
Men
Rich people
Evangelical Christians
1/2 of Catholics (those attend Mass every Sunday and are against abortion, stem-cell research, gay marriage).
90% who voted for Bush in 2000

Difference from 2000:
Bush clearly took Florida.

Three themes of concern:
1. Economy
2. Terrorism
3. Moral Values

In Michigan and Ohio, Kerry did better with voters who were concerned with economy. Bush did better with voters concerned with terrorism.
