What a misnomer then, because she obviously doesn't have faith she can win these matches, especially when she gets down.

Звонарёва - the bolded part (Zvona-ryova) actually means 'crybaby' by itself, not that you can take the word apart. :tape: Not trying to be mean or anything, but with all these talks of Vera's crying spells, I guess I just subconciously thought about it... Hope Vera gets those under control.

It's exactly like that in Serbian too, and звоно means bell.

MaSha

Masha is a nick for every Maria. Sharapova's surname has nothing to do with it.

I really like Vera but I cant stand this nickname for her. "Bepa"?? I really dislike it. Everytime I see this on the screen I cringe for some weird reason.

And the whole of last name has something to do with ringing of bells.

It's not a nick name! It's how you spell "vera" in Russian. V=B, e=e, r=p, a=a. You pronounce is "Vera" and not Bee-pa, in English. :)

Verochka and veron'ka are pet-names. When you pitty her when she's crying, say "Verochka don't cry". Don't think she has a NICKNAME though.
